So I took Theodore in to get neutered yesterday because of the mama/kits I’m now fostering. Anyway the breeder had someone she has do neuters for her so I took him there and picked him up today about 24 hours after the surgery was complete. When I picked him up she said he was a little jumpy and he didn’t seem tired at all. She showed me his incisions and they just looked like little flaps of skin. No redness or swelling.
I think he was happy to see me and be back home because he wasn’t jumpy at ALL when I had to get him out of the travel cage. He just sat still and let me lift him up and into his cage
. I think it’s probably because the breeder has a 2 year old who torments every animal in the house. He even tried to scruff Theo when I was there! Needless to say I rescued my baby from him
.
As of tonight he’s eaten a handful of veggies and whatever the breeder provided for him last night. He’s currently resting in his cage without much interaction so he has a chance to heal.
Does everything sound on track? What should I expect in the next two weeks? What’s the easiest way to check incision sites without causing damage?
