I have a 1 year old neutered Himalayan rabbit (neutered at 7 months) named Tilty. After his neuter his hormonal behaviors slowly faded away in the normal amount of time. Until now, he has been doing great. He is fully litter trained. But in the last week or so, he has peed on my bed (and me) 3 times. Not urine spraying, just a regular pee. I know this is usually a sign of claiming me as his. He has also been humping things again, something that he has not done at all since his neuter. I’ve also noticed his destructive behaviors and digging increasing in the last week or 2. He has a large C&C cage (he’s free roam the whole time I’m home), plenty of different toys, and gets lots of attention. I don’t understand why he suddenly seems to be regressing! If anyone has any answers, it would be greatly appreciated!

I’d maybe look into a vet check if possible.

Sometimes rabbits act up because they are in pain, or there is an underlying health condition. Abnormal litter habits are usually a good sign something is up, and id really recommend looking into it.

If nothing is found at the vet and hes given the all clear, you may be witnessing spring fever. One of my boys gets it really badly, the other two not so much, despite them all being neutered.

I agree that a vet visit would be the best avenue you can take — many things can cause the appearance of reemerging hormonal behavior.

Have there been any changes recently? Anything that may cause increased frustration or territorialness on his part? One thing  I can imagine is if you’re home more. I know my Wick has become more destructive, and I think a part of it is me being home all the time now, so his sleep is not as sound and I’m just everywhere, in his space all the time.
