I’ve had a few more interesting days with Fiver and Mimzy of late. It would seem that when I bring Mimzy out for playtime on the bed, he wants to go right over to Fiver’s pen (next to the bed) and just sit there with him while I give each bunny nose rubs. I doubt one can read intentions in bunny faces, but if I didn’t know better I’d swear Fiver is completely content with Mimzy’s presence and vice versa. In fact today Mimzy was a little miffed at me as I hadn’t the time to get them together this morning and he pouted by the door of his pen.

Could they be asking to bond? I mean, I let Mimzy pretty much go where he wants as long as it’s not a header off the foot and he will poke around a bit and then return to Fiver, who immediately crouches and offers his nose for grooms, and they just sit there with their cute little bunny lips almost touching and resting on the bars of Fiver’s pen. It’s so adorable. But I know it’s not a neutral space, so I am wondering what would happen if I put them together in the bathtub or the xpen. (supervised, of course)

I’ll have to try to get pictures next time they have quality time together. You guys have to see this. lolz…

I’m sure Mimzy hasn’t forgotten (at least I hope not) that he is Pip’s husbun. (I don’t think she cares much for Fiver, he doesn’t merit her regal notice.) But I’m also hoping that this will be a step towards getting all three of them in one place, as I should have room coming up soon to put them all together with my son going to live in the dorms this fall.

Now, Mimzy still seems to be sneezing a bit, so I’m going to talk to my vet tomorrow morning, hopefully. As long as she pronounces him well, should I proceed with bonding activities do you think? I mean, does this behavior sound promising?

I think it does sound promising, for what it’s worth. I would consider setting them up next to each other. Are you planning on housing all three in your sons room? Or use this as neutral space?
Had you only just started bonding Pip & Mimz before his health troubles? If their interaction was fairly good, maybe try Mimz & Fiver together. If you get a bond here and still want to bring Pip into it, you might easily get Mimz & Pip together and then it’ll just be a matter of Fiver & Pip to complete the trio. Not sure if that’s the way to go about it but I certainly don’t think having Mimz & Fiiver meet in a neutral setting to socialise would hurt one little bit.

What the hey… I say that if the vet okays Mimzy for bonding activities, give it a try… It’s not unheard of that two male will get along, and that’s much more likely than two females… Maybe if Fiver smells like Mimzy, Pip would be more accepting of him.

at the vet today, i found out that penny is a boy… and her and max are bffs. they sleep together, eat together, everything.
and they took to each other right away- i don’t see why you should be worried if they like each other already.

When Sammy and I went on bunny dates he didnt get along with any of the females (too bossy for his taste!!) The friend he picked was Ivy. My two boys have gotten along with no trouble since they were first put together (besides some humpy wars at first). They are bestest buddies now!! Since they already seem to like one another I would go for it!!
