Sigh…everytime I post here I’m sure I’m asking another annoying question!
I got a female angorra cross lionhead nearly 2 weeks ago from a family that didnt want her. She’s about a year old.
Shes been living in a cage next to my 10 month old lionhead dwarf mix. I introduced them after 5 days and it went well. She groomed him, and he flopped happily next to her. However the second day she decided that she would rather be in charge, and began humping and chasing my boy.
Honestly I dont actually believe she’s even being overly dominant, but he point blank refuses to let her near him. The mintuute she comes near him( even if she’s not actually attempting to interact with him) he scoots away and stamps. This is the 4th day of it.
His running away is frustrating for her and I can see her getting less and less patient. I tried putting them in a smaller area(laundry basket) and the same thing happened, til she eventually got bored with him and trying to escape became more interesting.
I thought that if I persisted my boy would get sense and just accept her, but all it seems to do is worsen their relationship :/
He’s not trying to challenge her for dominance, he simply doesnt want it to exist.
They are very happy to sit right next to each other while i pet them, they’ll even sit with their noses together.
And he was very happy to be near her when she wasnt being dominant.
Am i doing something very wrong?
