  Hello! our little guy uses his litter box but also other spots in the house. We had him neutered about a month ago. We had hoped this was territorial and he would start just using his litter box after his neuter, but that is not the case! Any suggestions?? Our last rabbit was box trained after a week! Would love your insights. Thank you!

  How big is his free-roam area? If it’s more than one room he prob needs a box in each room. It can also help to restrict the space temporarily (to maybe an x-pen size area most of the time with exercise periods of a larger space) and basically start from scratch with litter training. Then you can gradually increase the space and see how he does.
  
  He also might be re-marking the old areas even though he’s neutered if he can smell them. I had an issue with my girl continually marking this one spot. I was cleaning it with vinegar but she would still remark it. Then I realized the area smelled SO strongly of vinegar that I think that was actually triggering her to mark it. I ended up using a carpet shampooer with a pet-safe enzyme type cleaner and she finally stopped marking that spot!

    Thank you so much for the response! He does have a bit too much are to roam. We have tried limiting him, but he picks up right where he left off when we try to reintroduce him to more space. The pet enzyme cleaner is a great call! Also we gave him a second litter box and it has reduced some of the carpet spots.

  I am personally not a professional on litter box training because my rabbit came litter trained. but any time your rabbit pees on the carpet, wipe it up with a paper towel and then stick it back in their litter box, I know that this can be frustrating. but just make sure you then clean the carpet with some 50-50 water vinegar solution. hope this can help! 🙂
