Hey all!
I hope this is in the right place. As some may remember, I was very worried about my baby boy, Gustavo and his upcoming neuter. Well, today was the big day and I have great news! He made it! One thing that led to my anxiety was that what you will find on the internet is mostly stories of when things go wrong (thank you for pointing that out by the way guys!) so I thought it might be nice for a change to have a bit of positivity with a success story!

This was Gus the night before, clearly stating he was not a fan of going inside the carrier. He did however use it as a chair when we were eating at the table and was able to be snuck a few pieces of celery.

Gus right after waking up from surgery, caught at one of his very few and far between (kinda) ugly moments. Up until this point I was waiting by the phone for an update and was very nervous. Thankfully it seems like Gustavo was in good hands! Hopefully once his hormones die down so will his deep admiration for feet! 😯

And here he is just a few hours after being home! I swear, he acts like he didn’t just have some semi-major surgery/extremely traumatic event, I actually had to step in because he was getting too excited in the recovery pen! Thankfully, he is already eating, just not quite what he normally does. He has also passed a few poops so I’m pretty sure he is A-okay, but I might feed a little Critical Care just to make sure he is definitely moving things along in there. He also decided to say ‘screw you’ on the subject matter of the new bed I bought him for recovery, and just peed all over the thing and sat in it!
If anyone reading this has experience, I’d love to know if it’s okay to feed Critical Care as a supplement for what he is missing while he isn’t eating too much, or if I am just being the overprotective first bunny parent again. 😆 He is eating, just about 1/4-1/3 of what he normally does, and prefers his veg over hay as per usual. I have a feeling he will be eating normally by tomorrow, but I don’t want to take any chances in the night.
Anyways, I know we aren’t fully out of the woods yet but I feel confident Gus will be just fine and on the road to getting a girlfriend (or boyfriend, who knows) in no time! 😀
