Pancakes was neutered yesterday. He seems like his old self again today except his stools are a bit soft. I know diarrhea is cause for calling the vet per written instructions, but if the stools are just a little soft should I be alarmed? I’m giving him food and water in small amounts like the aftercare sheet says.

        Thank you!

That may be caused by the remaining anesthesia in his system. If it continues for longer than a day, I would give the vet a call, see what they want you to do. Is he on pain meds at home?

If he no longer seems groggy- you should give unlimited water and tempt him back onto his normal eating schedule.  Rabbits cannot vomit like dogs and cats do- and it is important to keep their gut moving with food and well hydrated with water.

Cotton after she was spayed had a day of mushy poo which is pretty normal after an interrupted feeding schedule- but she bounced right back quickly.

Thank you both! Pancakes is not on an pain meds at home, but does not seem to be in distress or anything. He’s got his regular appetite and seems content
