I maybe a nervous mommy, so I figured I’d ask for some input.

I adopted my recuse bunny, Cosmo, a week ago. He’s a year old Netherland dwarf. He’s always been social and happy

Last week when he came home (and up till now) he hasn’t drank much  water, and I got nervous. Now though he drinks almost 1-2 cups a day! He does binkies and zoomies, comes to visit me on the couch. His bathroom habits seem normal (except I found him going to the bathroom in his ‘bed’ not the litter box, but I took away the bed and moved the litter box) he’s also eating a Ton of hay, but seemingly normal eating habits too.

Anyways, I’ve read excess water could be warning of a problem/sickness. Does he seem okay, and like he’s just getting comfortable in his new home?

His bathroom habits when he’s out playing are still the same.
He just seemed to pee/poop in his bed when locked in his cage at night or when I’m at work.

I think he sounds okay. I know I am still very nervous if something seems off with my rabbits and I have had them for awhile

Sometimes I feel like I’m over the top nervous. But I also know if be very sad if I didn’t catch a problem in time.

I’m glad for the positive reinforcement. As per usual though I’ll keep a close eye on him, haha.

The increase in water consumption may be caused by his increase on hay intake. Eating lots of hay can make them a little parched. I noticed with my rabbits that if I watered down their veggies really well they wouldn’t drink too much water from their bowls. So don’t worry. =] I promise that the more time you spend with your bun the more you’ll learn about his habits and will know the warning signs of off beat behavior.

Is it hot where you are? My buns tend to drink more when it’s hotter.

The bunny is your avatar is super cute!
