This was posted on July 8 and got lost in the forum tech glitch. Kay, if you are reading: It seems you need to re-register with the site.

Content: Sitting here crying because my bunny might be depressed. He has a whole bedroom to himself with a few toys, etc. he loves to lay in a certain area behind an object. He lays there quit often. I peek in the room when busy and see he does change spots. I feel guilty for not spending so much time with him. I do go in and sit or lay on the floor to hangout and pet him. But somedays its only for a few minutes. I tried to have him be a free range bunny, so he can fully be apart of everythint going on in the house and feel incorporated..but he doesnt like my puppy too much. He is a jersey wooly and gets matts above his tail that I comb out. I can barlet handle him when trying to cur his nail. He is such a sweet bot ans loves to be pet, so we sometimes have long petting sessions! I just feel bad and wondering if he should go to a home where there is someone super experienced with rabbits and has others so he can have friends. I want to make this right. He deserves the best. Maybe im just over thinking and these things I complain about can be easily fixed… again, I just want the best life for him and want to give him that.. everything seems overwhelming to think about. I know i will be super upset if I gave him away!

Thats such a hard decision and I think about that with all my babies. It depends on your schedule, for me i am in college and i started to study in my buns pens everyday and they love it and act like dogs and beg for everything I have. I used to only spend 1 hour a day with them and it made me upset too thinking they are depressed but if you can, try and bond him with your puppy but remember to separate them when you’re not home so no one gets hurt. But try and see if you can do that and see if that means you can spend more time with him.

You can always get him a girlfriend( of course both fixed) so that they can be with each other all day and then you see them when you’re home. I know my buns, they like to ignore me all the time so it feels even if i spend hours with them, it feels like 5 minutes of interaction haha. Try everything you can and if you still think its not enough time, then research and find the best rabbit experienced household to give him to and you’ll know you did everything you could.

Don’t get yourself down! If you truly love your bun, then keep him, love him, and give as much of your free time as possible. My schedule is constantly changing, and most of the time my rabbit hardly gets out of his cage, and I unfortunately get to spend little time with him. I thought of it once just giving up on having him as a pet, but every time I took him out to run around, he just showed me unending love! Sometimes he’s a grumpus, sure, but that doesn’t mean anything. I know he still loves me. I think you should take a step back and evaluate what your rabbit thinks of you – I’m sure he loves you as you love him, but rabbits have a hard time showing emotion. Don’t give up!
