chances are good that the pet shop is wrong. i would keep them separated until they are both taken to the vet to be sexed. yes, take Maisy to be sexed too, b/c it’s very easy to get it wrong. both males and females will hump. humping is a way of exerting dominance, it’s a normal behavior, and is not a problem in altered buns. biting and fur-flying scuffles is not good.

have you found a vet in your area yet? i’d have them taken in to be sexed as soon as possible, and find out altering info. even if both are female, they both need to be spayed to help reduce the chance of cancer.

Yes, don’t put them together until you have confirmation from a vet on their sexes – you do not want any unexpected pregnancies, that would be very bad.

Yes, it seriously only takes seconds to get a bunny pregnant (no foreplay at all ) and you really don’t want unexpected babies!! You can end up with a very large litter, lots of vet bills, long nights etc!!

Also rabbits are ‘induced ovulators” which means they ovulate after they mate-so they can get pregnant 365 days a year-they don’t go into heat or anything!! Definitely seperatate them! Keep us posted babewoman!!

its great that they’re getting along!  yay!

were you able to take them to a vet to be sexed?  it’s still important not to let them be together until you have the sexes confirmed.  if the sexes were mixed up one could very easily be pregnant just from the earlier encounter and you’d have absolutely no way of knowing until one day bun is pulling out fur, making a nest & a litter of babies appears.  seriously.  that has happened to a few other members here.  and i think k&k mentioned once that she knew of a bun that got pregnant from another & they were even separated by wires!  they still managed to get the deed done.  lol.  it may seem lke a pain if they’re already getting along but you need to have a good vet anyways.  might as well make the first appoinment for sexing & discussing altering & how soon that can be done.

i’m just seconding what BBMum said… it is still imperative that they both be sexed as soon as possible. until then, please don’t put them together again.
