Need bunny help, aka new owner

I just got Sam in feb at a flea market. He was quite scared, bcuz i think the owner wasnt nice. It took him about 4 days to start eating.

I feed him kale and carrots and rabbet pellets. I need help training him for the litter box. He one stinky rabbit lol. I need that screen I saw on this site.

I need to get him used to us but my lil girl dont know how to not be careful lol shes only 6 and thinks she can handle him like a cat lol.

I’m sorry, are you trying to sort out the litter habits problem or selling your rabbit?
I’d take a look at the forum rules and guidelines as selling is not allowed.

For training, don’t use any bedding material (paper bedding, sawdust, wood shavings etc) in his cage. Only have litter like material in the litterbox. Then put hay in the litterbox. Rabbits will poop where they eat their hay.

Hay is very important and should be the main part of their diet.

You can put a towel or blanket inside the cage, but some rabbits will chew at anything and eating fabric could make them ill. It’s no good for litterbox-training, though, but some rabbits like to snuggle with a soft towel.

Unneutered rabbits can stink, it’s hormonal. Unneutered male rabbits are also hard to litter-train properly. But seeing that you’ve had Sam for such a short while, you really shouldn’t give up yet, I think, at least. About your daughter, maybe this could be a good way to teach her how to be gentle with small animals? You shouldn’t let her handle Sam on her own until he’s settled in, though, and she’s learned how to behave around him. It would be the same with a puppy, really. Young children can’t of course know ubefore they’ve been taught =)

I guess you’ve read the tips on litter-box training here on BB, otherwise please do. And keep asking questions here because there’s so many experienced rabbit-owners here who can -and will!!!- offer lots of help and advice.

No I’m not trying sell him lol… I just need learn how to take care of as he grows .. should I get him nertural.. so he won’t stink… he likes to stay in his litter box and gets pee and poop on him he got direrrha I been feeding him carrots and kale…. should I get two little boxes … I got him in large dog cage for now… what home toys can I make for cheap.. what can I do to make him happy on a cheap budget … how can I wash off the poop on his belly and tail and remove the pee stains … thank you for reading sorry if it not perfect word format …

Yes, he should be neutered. What type of litter are you using, rabbits don’t smell but if you aren’t using the right litter that could be the problem. What size exactly is the dog crate?

Don’t feed him too many carrots. You said he has diarrhea? How long has he had poopy butt? Try getting him eati lots of hay and go easy on the veggies. I saw you feed him pellets carrots and kale. Is there any hay he can eat? Hay is VERY important.
Also when you get him neutered it can take a few weeks for his hormones to die down. Harley was very stinky and I got him neutered it definitely dissipated and it’s SO MUCH BETTER lol

I just bought a head of romaine, kale, and parsley for like $3.28 for 2 buns it lasted a week.

The dog cage is way big for a large dog its tall 21′ I believe he can move around its like 5 ft long and 3 ft wide maybe bigger I can show pics if nesscery. I feed him timothy hay he has it in his pan and in a toilet roll I haven’t feed him carrots in 2 days he seems not to have soft poop …

It’s good that you have the poopy butt under control more now. If it continues, he will need to see a vet. You want to take him to a vet anyway because he needs an initial check up to see if he’s healthy, and to make an appointment for the neuter.

Check out the drop down menu from that. Or go to the home page where there are also some menus. You’ll find great guidelines on diet, setting up a habitat, litter training and other maintenance, and what to expect with behavior and costs over time. It should answer many of your questions asap and help you get set up in a way that will be comfortable for him and good (not smelly ) for your home, too.

Sure! A bunny buddy would be like a quit buddy for someone wanting to quit smoking and they would rely on each other in the rough times so a bunny buddy would be an experienced bunny person for motherlydia to come to with questions.
