Here is a short video of him exploring my little sister’s bed:
I have no idea of his breed, so if anyone has any ideas, let me know! (If it helps, his fur is super plush/fluffy, but not super long, and when you pet it backwards, it pretty much stays like that until you brush it flat. His ears are upright, and not incredible large, but not tiny like a dwarf)
He is still young, so it is probably hard to tell for right now.
For some odd reason, I am really liking names that start with T/Th, but am open to other ones
Here are the name suggestions from my family and myself thus far:
Tarlo (Tar-low)
Theodore
Tobias
Timothée
Tavares (Tah-vah-ris)
Here are some other names that have been suggested =) :
Nonnie (I have been pronouncing it No-Knee, not sure if that is how you all meant it to be pronounced? )
William
Chester
Oliver
What do you guys think? Any more names to add to the list?
Teeeeeeaaammmm Nonnie! (I’ve been thinking of saying it Non-ee but either way is a perfect name ?
You’re missing William from the list Moxie my dear. ![]()
Don’t worry LBJ, it’s on there (second list). Not that she needs a list cause his name shall be Nonnie <3
Oh there it is!
Eh… Nonnie sounds too much like naughty.
Team Tarlo! Also i think he might be some sort of rex.
For some reason Thatcher and Atticus popped into my mind
But i do like Nonnie (i pronounce it non-ee, but no-knee is just as good!) ![]()
Lol Nonnie. That was just a joke BM!
Mox, I was not surprised to see Timothée on your list. I remember that from last time. It doesn’t fit?
I didn’t see video link at first. He reminds me so much of a young Jersey. <3 And of TimTim also, in the way he turned his head into the hand.
So very cute!
Jersey- Tarlo, Theodore and Timothée were all on Finnegan’s name list
I like them all, and they all seem to fit, I am just kinda waiting to see if one will scream *him* haha
I think I am particularly liking Theodore, Tarlo and Oliver. I am not sure why though.
I also really like Loki, since No Name is super michevious, but I am not sure yet.
I like William, but am just not sure it fits.
Well since you won’t take Gilligan (sigh), actually I wouldn’t name any of mine that either. I grew up watching Gilligan’s Island reruns. So…uh-uh.
Of the names batted around so far, I like Chester and Loki. Since you haven’t said anything about Chester but have actually suggested Loki, I’m really pushing for Loki. That way I feel like if he becomes Mr. Loki I had some influence in the young man’s legacy.![]()
Jersey – I know, but I still love the name! ?
Do you not know the book I’m talking about Moxie? I think William is perfect. Liam and Finn all the way!!!
I don’t think I do know the book?
*BUT* I think I have decided on Loki. I have been taking him everywhere (that is safe for me to take him) with me, and he is just so outgoing and mischievous! (I also love Tom Hiddleston, and his character Loki in Marvel movies)
So Prince Finnegan and Master Loki. It kinda has a nice ring to it?
Also, this may seem silly, but it has been nearly 5 years since I have had a young bunny (since Moxie was a baby. Because Finn is already around 4 when I got him a few months ago), so I could use a few refresher! I have been feeding him unlimited pellets (alfalfa based) and timothy hay, with some alfalfa hay compressed cube chew things. (Nobody sells straight up alfalfa hay around here, so I will have to drive to Petco when I get a chance)
Is this Okay? What should I be doing differently? I have introduced a couple dandelion leaves here or there, since I believe he is around the age where he can start trying things. Any help is greatly appreciated =)
There’s a chance you may need to limit pellets still. Just keep an eye on what he’s eating in regards to hay vs pellets and cut back on the pellets if he’s not eating enough hay. Sounds good otherwise
He’s terribly cute
Crazy story. Earlier in the week or over the weekend I had a dream where I found a stray bunny that I took home. I only just watched the vid of your new little guy, he a spitting image for the bun in my dream. A broken black tort with up ears
That’s crazy. Unfortunately I don’t have any name ideas though.
Azerane- Thank you!
He is a big hay eater, so I am not too concerned about the amount of pellets he eats ![]()
This is what BB just recently found out from the HRS regarding pellets and alfalfa hay:
The HRS guidelines say.
7 weeks to 7 months–unlimited pellets, unlimited hay (plus see 12 weeks below)
12 weeks–introduce vegetables (one at a time, quantities under 1/2 oz.)
But the question is should the hay and pellets both be alfalfa at this age.
BB asked this question to the HRS Headquarters Executive Director. This is their reply:
—————-
Hi
Yes, for 7 weeks to 7 months, the hay & pellets should both be alfalfa.
In practice at HRS headquarters, if the babies are looking full grown & chubby at 5-7 months, we’ll switch them from alfalfa hay to orchard/timothy early. We do alfalfa pellets until at least 1 year. At that point, we switch to an adult formulated pellet, whether alfalfa or timothy-based, and feed 1/8c 2xday or 1/4c 1xday.
I hope that helps!
Thanks Bam!
I threw in behind the name Loki! I am feeling proud this morning. Like I have in some tiny miniscule way taken part in what will be a permanent part of this little ones personality, his legacy. I was aligned with destiny, the universe, if but for only a moment. (Should have played the Lottery here in Texas)
Enough of all that. I like Loki. So does this mean you are locked in? No rehoming? Yours for good?
Gordo and Janice- Yup, little Loki is here for good! Finnegan has definitely already calmed down about it, which put me at ease, because there is hope! xD Also, I want to add that I too used to watch Gilligan’s island a lot! And the Beverly hillbillies ![]()
Yes,yes!…”Come ‘n listen to my story ’bout a man name Jed, a poor mountaineer barely kept his family fed……Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea……Hills that is, swimmin’ pools, movie stars.” And you can’t forget that end, “Y’all come back now, y’hear?” Classics…
Ohh the days of youth!
Everyone thought you might get latched. You can’t fight fate! Glad Finnegan is calming down. And really glad Loki is getting to stay with you…lucky feller!
NOOOOOOOOO! His name will be William (Liam). ![]()
@LBJ10 – Apparently the “Bunny Name Master” title under your avatar doesn’t carry as much weight as one would have thought. I just noticed it by the way. Maybe if Moxie had known…but I fear it is too late….
Either that, or blatant disregard…”gasp”…
Moxie should make us ALL winners and call him Willokionnie. ![]()
Oh believe me, Moxie knows better than to question the master. How do you think Finnegan got his name? ![]()
BrunosMama- Don’t tempt me! Haha!
LBJ- haha, William can be his middle name
Loki William? Hmm… how about William Loki? Hehe!

LOLOL.
I think it should read Former Bunny Name Master now. ![]()
Mox, Loki seems perfect for him. Plus it makes them both have Irish/Gaelic sounding names (Loki could be alternative spelling of Lochie).
Jersey- I think it fits well too
I have been taking him with me when I go places quite frequently, and Loki is really the only thing that seemed to stick =) and true about the similar Irish/Gaelic names! I never thought about that!
