              Food names:
              Brownie
Nestle (pronounced Nes-lee, the brand name, or Nes-tall, like snuggling)
              Mocha
              Chips
              Fudgicle

              Other names:
              Shadow
(What’s the name of the lion cub from the Lion King?….)
              Chestnut
              Goldie

That’s all I can think of for now.

Ooooh, I like Truffles or maybe Smokey.  However, I’m also a fan of “people” names for animals. It may also be worth it to wait to name him until you have him home and know his personality a bit!

Lionel, Desmond, David (Bowie a.k.a The Bowster), Johnny, Percy, Jenkins(no idea where that one came from but it suits i think :-)  But oh the list is endless, now you’ve got me started… lol
Pee-Wee, Winkle, Winkie, Tinkle, Trevor, Mr Snuggles, Scrumbum, Lucian, Lester, Ragu, Lambchop, Porkchop, Boeuf Bourgignon, Grenouille, Ribbit, Flibberty Jibbett, Robin, Gumble, Rodney, Po, Poppov,  Ches, Chips….I like Chips too. :-) Pingu, Bungle, Ralph, PoopPoop, arghhh stop!!!  If i ever have children (not the fluffy kind…..god help them!!!!!)

Oooh you must be SOOOOO excited…let us know how you all settle in!!! x

Agree with Staja too, have a few names in mind as it wont be until you get him that maybe you realise the name you have set your heart on really doesn’t suit, he’ll soon “suit” something most appropriately!!!  lol  I mean Brian Bubblebum/Mr Buggers definitely WAS NOT A DEREK!!!  And although i had my heart set on Bettie, due to various “SEX CHANGE CONFUSIONS”, Bettie was forced to become Bert & it threw us off course, and Bean (aka Bert) is now MISS Sweaty Bettie Bean.  :-)….  Take your time, there’s no rush…. After all, you can’t force these things.

I have always told myself that I will have a boy pet named “Disney”- of course I have yet to adopt a boy pet that fits that name.

And, as always, I suggest you write down three or four of your favorites on small pieces of paper and put them in front of the bun. When he/she begins to nibble on one of the pieces of paper, they’ve chosen their own name.

Good idea, and the same can be done with body parts, which has only just dawned on me this very second….

Brian Bubblebum has a tendency to nip my posterior when I clean their litter box, and Sweaty Bettie Bean nips my arm in the night when she wants cuddles,..arm, armpit, Sweaty. I’m glad neither are nicknamed Booby!!

hey everyone, thanks so much for all the name suggestions, i will probably wait until i get the bunny, i this is my first one, i have a couple of questions, if i am working 8 hours a day and the bf is working longer, should i get a second bunny to keep him/her company, the person who i am buying it off of she said she will only sell the same sexed pair to me so that is good, do bunny’s need shots from the vet?
                              thanks for all the info
                              can’t wait to get him/her

Rabbits live very happily in pairs. I had a single housebunny who was just as happy as I was home all of the time, and she was very much bonded to me, but I find that npairs makes me feel less guilty when I’m not around. Same sex pairs are fine, but you will HAVE to get them neutered as soon as they are old enough to stop any fighting happening when they get older. Males can be done as soon as their testicles drop and does as soon as the vet thinks they are big enough.

If you feel you can manage two i’d recommend a pair. Brian was all by himself for about a year and quite happy. However I too felt guilty as we left him all day whilst we were at work. Had a bit a testing time with the bonding when we got Bettie, but honestly they are insperable and i know he is perfectly content with her for company during the day. Whatever you feel is best. There is no right and wrong thing to do. 🙂

congrats on deciding to adopt a bun!  i’d recommend reading up about bonding on this website & through the posts about bonding to see if you think it’s something you want to get into.  maybe adopting your new wee one, waiting while he/she & you & the bf settle into a routine, and then taking he/she on some dates for possible partners would be a way to ease into the decision?

i just recently adopted a 2nd bun and will try to bond the 2 together once the new bun – pinky – is spayed.  i’m looking forward to it but am remaining open to the possibility that they may not bond well just incase.  right now i’m all set up to have the 2 of them completely separate and since i work from home they each get plenty of free-roam time & company.  but having one big happy family would be really sweet

bonding experiences can vary greatly from what i’ve read here.  i believe i read kokanee&kahlua bonded at first sight of eachother, while markus’ dono & maryann took a whole lot of patience & persistance to bond.  he has kept a journal thread here of his ‘bonding quest’ & i believe he still has a link in to it in his posts.

                                    good luck!

She’s adorable. Call her different names and see if she comes with one of them. It worked with mine. He knew his name before I did.
Puffin popped into my head just now.

very exciting getting a first bunny.  let us know if you have any questions about diet or care.  rabbits are not easy pets but they are worth it, and definitely so cute!  you would actually be better off waiting to get a second bun until she is spayed and then you can take her to a rabbit rescue and do bunny speed dating.  the rescue will introduce her to several bunny suitors and that way your rabbit can pick her own mate.  the easiest bond is male/female.

Congratulations on your new bunny. We just got ours yesterday too! It’s very exciting, but a bit nerve wracking too isn’t it? I like the name suggestion of Cocoa, it’s adorable just like your baby bunny.
