My bun is just now a year. i usually clip her nails, back and front, and shes gotten used to it. but is it really necessary? and she’s so picky over what she chews, she only likes those orange carrot shaped/flavored processed  wood chews. Iv tried apple twigs, but she hates them. what to do….and something else…i never see her eat her…uh hum (poops) which they’re supposed to do. she used to do that, but now never does. why?

Nail trims are necessary, as otherwise they won’t wear down properly. Nails that are too long can snag and break, causing pain, infection, lots of blood everywhere.. all in all not fun. Not to mention the long nails themselves are a discomfort to buns.

I get Monkey and Moose’s done once a month. They usually don’t need it more often than that.

how much are you clipping off? you have to clip off right before the quick. i tend to clip my bun’s nails once a month.

i actually clip my nails more than my buns

Have you tried willow toys for chewing? Those are a big hit with many bunnies! They’re available on this site and other websites around the internet.

I have only seen my buns eat their cecals (night droppings that contain nutrients) maybe a few times. They typically never even touch the ground, unless there is a dietary imbalance and they are overproducing them. A bunny will bend over and you may see her moving around down there and then she straightens up and she’s chewing. They can actually eat the cecals directly from their anus. (I know… icky, but that’s what they do.) So I’m not surprised that you are not seeing this take place.

The bigger concern would be if there were droppings around the cage and they were not getting eaten at all. And now that I’m thinking abut it… I may have misunderstood your post… lol. Are you saying this is the case and the cecals are there but she’s not eating them? Or you don’t even see them?
