buttons had very good litter habits his whole life—and after he was netered, they got so much better! for 3 weeks, he didnt miss once. it was amazing!!! but now, on the 4th week after his neuter, he hasnt pooed once in the litterpan for 2 days!!!!! and i havent seen any pee in his litterpan today either, which is strange becuase he drinks alot and usually pees alot too (which is the normal) i have been finding him pooing on his brick (yes, i know, a brick) and all over his grass mat and the top of his hidey house, and all over my room .  he never misses… he never ever ever pees on anything other than shavngs. he is afraid to pee on wire, wont pee on cardboard, not even on straw. so this leads me to think that he is not peeing at all. hs poo amounts seem totally normal and just as much as possible. they dont look different than usua. what is wrong with him/ is it serious or not/ will it fix itself? is it ok??????? HELP

Hmm, that’s very strange! My first though, for the pee at least, is that he might have a UTI or something, so I would take him to a vet. Such a big lapse in litter skills like that makes me think there might be something physically wrong. Good luck! I would be pretty nervous if my bun suddenly lost all litter habits too.

never mind. we found the pee. all of it. along with the poo. he “moved” his litterpan to the other side of the cage, so thats where i left it. but he continued to potty in the other corner where it used to be. i moved the litterpan back and now its fine. grrrr.

Had you changed the litter recently? Sammy only goes outside her pan if it’s time to change it. She is very clear on that point.

Worst case scenario for you is to get a second, smaller litter pan for the other spot, just in case.
Put some hay in the corner of the present one first, just to “sweeten the pot” pardon the pun.
