I think he needs to see a vet. Do you have a rabbit savvy vet? I would suggest taking him tomorrow before the weekend.

He needs to see a vet. He could die. It sounds like he is dying to me. This is incredibly serious.

When a rabbit is having issues so bad he needs a bath-thats vet time. The wobbling is making me terribly nervous.

Please take him in, and please keep us posted!

The wobbling thing – not good! And if you are bathing him while he’s in a state of shock, the extra stress will not help. Please get to a vet RIGHT NOW! This is an emergency.   If he is sick and/or suffering from heat stroke then wobbling could indicate he’s at the disoriented stage. Life and death right now – you have to get him to the vet, otherwise his life is in danger if you keep him home and just hope/wait for it to get better.

I urge you to get to a vet asap.

I agree – your bunny sounds in shock, and like he is suffering. You should not bathe him – a normal healthy bunny is perfectly capable of keeping him/herself clean and bathing can send a bunny into shock.

Also – is your bunny outside or indoors? I never bring my bunnies outdoors at all, but at the very least they should not be left outside in very hot weather – it can cause heatstroke and all kinds of illnesses. A bunny can get heatstroke indoors as well, but it is easier to keep them cool indoors.

just to let you all know Diesel is fine. He has a urine sore that is hurting him so he is on pills and cream. The Vet (He has 3 rabbits at home) said there is a funny bone in this back leg which might be pushing down on his bladder which is why we wee’s all the time, but we wont know till the sore has gone and he has been x rayed. The guess is the person we got him from mistreated him. He is much happier now and I have bought him a Maze heaven (cant wait from it to arrive) and lots of toys and treats.

                          Whew. I was so worried!

It’s so sad to hear that Diesel may have mistreated, but it’s good know he has you now to care for him. What meds did the vet end up prescribing for him? Have you had any challenges so far with a “pill” form?

Also, maybe i missed something – was the vet waiting until the sore was gone to x-ray? I can’t imagine that was the case, since “sore” broken legs are x-rayed. Or was he thinking that the wobbling was due to a sore hiney and wait until it heals to find that out, thus ruling out the the need to x-ray?

                          Is his appetite better now?

                          Sending out healing vibes!

OMG I’m so glad for the update!! I’m glad you got him to the vet and at least, if not totally cured-you and the vet have it under control!

His “pills” are shot i can inject into him or in his water, which i think i will do. The Vet – Who is a nice american guy said his walking funny might be because of the sores he has, as he did not walk funny before he had them, so we are putting scream on him every day, he loves it so it must be working and is quite happy letting us pick him up to do these things so he know we are trying to help him. So after he is better if he is still walking funny we will get him xrayed to see. He looks better today and is eating us out of house and home still weeing everywhere but we are letting him off for the time being. Thanks fo all your help guys will keep you all posted and put some photos of him on soon.

its wonderful he knows what your doing is making him better; that’s often the hardest part of that type of care, they don’t see the benefit and get upset over it when meanwhile it’s for their health. It makes it difficult so thats wonderful he’s happy with the treatment

Diesel is still getting better and better, he is now demanding food by picking up his food bowl and showing it too us!!!. He is still pulling out some of his fur but not as much. We built him a extra play area around his cage last week using a pen, so he comes out in this all day has lots of toys and things to play with. We have notcied he is letting us stroke him more and play with him since we did this. Do you think he is getting more confidence as he has a bigger area to play in? Before it was just his cage or the run of the downstairs and I think that used to freak him out as he would not do much for a few hours after we let him out. Looking to build a walk way to the spare/office and put the maze in there so when my girlfriend is working from home he can come out and play more, we know he will stick to the path as he is a good boy.

Beka, he is a lop heared rabbit, I was told a while ago not to cut his fur on his feet but the veg said it was ok if i was carful. Not sure if he needs to be kept short or not.
