I was able to get the fine grind CC from the guinea pig rescue – I’ve been curious to try this and my vet doesn’t seem to carry it.

I think in comparison to the regular CC, it is definitely much smoother – where the regular seems more “grainy”, this is more smooth.  However it does not come in the banana apple flavor but I don’t thnk the regular flavor is unpalabable to rabbits.  I think mixing it with baby food might help the flavor though.  I just tried it with water to see what it would be like initially.

It seemed to be much easier as well to syringe feed because it does not clog up like the regular one.

I would recommend trying this – ask your vet to order some for you.

When Griffin was sick I bought some fine grind from the exotics vet I took him to- and it was much, much smoother.  It think it is odd- because CC is really mostly meant FOR syringe feeding- so regular CC seems to be a less “effective” product from admin standpoint.   Unless it is a rabbit that eats it from a bowl- the better and smoother texture make the fine grind easier to admin- and that is not a bad thing at all!
