On Friday, we had to say goodbye to our sweet, little girl. It was very hard but we know it was the right thing to do. As most of you know, she was diagnosed a few weeks ago with oral cancer. She was doing really well until late last week when she became unable to eat and started having trouble with her mouth, she was making a gagging action. We made an appointment for Friday to get her another anti-inflammatory shot to help keep her comftorable and  try to get another few weeks with her. A few hours before the appointment, Ricky was sitting with her and noticed her yawn. He looked into her mouth and then told me we have to put her down. It was really bad, much worse than we thought. It would have been unfair to keep her going like that. It was really hard, though, because despite everything, she was still in pretty good spirits. Still doing lots of purring and seeming happy enough. But we didn’t want to wait until she was in pain and since she couldn’t eat, we laid her to rest Friday afternoon. We stayed with her until the end.

Goodbye, my sweet little girl. Thank you for all the wonderful time we shared.

You will always be in our hearts.

So sorry She was gorgeous! I am glad she was able to pass on before it got to the point where she was miserable, that probably would have been harder on all of you. Pounce free little kitty!

          *hugs*

LPT, I am so sorry. I know you were balancing her best interests with prolonging her life in comfort at home. I am glad in a way that your BF was able to see her condition. Obviously that made a huge difference, and he was trying to be humane as well. She knows you gave her a wonderful life and care, and is purring at you from over the Bridge.

Oh Steph…I am so sorry. I know this had to have been the hardest thing to do. I burst into tears just seeing the thread title.
I had hoped you both would’ve been able to have more time with her. But trust me when I say you truly did the best thing for her. She is whole and healthy again at the bridge, waiting for the day you all meet again and watching over you, the dear angel. ((((((Huge Hugs)))))))))
Run free Mystee. If you see a handsome black fluffy cat there, that’d be our Drac. Would you say hello to him for us please? Thank you.
              A candle for you…

I’m really sorry You did what was best for her and she was lucky to have someone who cared about her enough to make that decision. Mystee is happy and healthy over the Bridge.

I knew this was coming, but it’s still so sad. Such a pretty kitty.

Both of my parents’ cats (the two that I grew up with) ended up with cancerous tumors inside their mouths. It seems like something that wouldn’t be all that common, but maybe it is. Not that that helps any, except maybe knowing that it wasn’t anything you did. That helps me anyway.

Thank you everyone. I miss her a lot. The house just seems so much emptier without her. She was a tiny cat but had a lot of presence in this house. It’s weird seeing Ricky watch tv without his little girl on his lap. We are down to 2 cats now. We had 5 a few years ago so 2 seems like such a small number. Mystee is with her big brother, Ash, and her sister, Nefera. I’m trying to take comfort in the fact that she was 15, an age that far too many cats never get to reach.

I’m sorry that this had to come so soon after the diagnosis. Poor little Mystee.

It’s beautiful to hear that she was able to pass peacefully and painlessly away. I’m terribly sorry for your loss.
