or, at the least considers me to be the lesser of 2 evils in the house….lol.

My little shy Dutch, Daisy, has progressed over the past year to actually coming up to me for a treat, but still backs away from head pets or any touch. I lay on the floor several nights a week and he’ll come investigate, but that’s as close as he comes.

Last night my son caught him and lifted him out of the condo and sat on the other end of the couch, as soon as he loosened his hold, that bunny zoomed across the couch, up my shirt and lodged himself under my chin like a tick! I have never seen an animal move that fast, it was just almost too fast to see….lol (and if it had been my warrior princess Pringles I would have feared for my jugular vein)

Anyway, Daisy stayed there and watched Hell’s Kitchen with me, the only thing moving were his ears tickling my face. After an hour and half, I tried to put him on the floor with Lola and he zoomed back up my pants leg and tucked back under my neck for another hour. This whole time he didn’t look stressed, no rolling white eyes or panicky breathing or anything, just determined.

I think I’ve been a bit overprotected about not initating contact with him, maybe sitting in that glass case at the petstore all those months just conditioned him that way, but from now on, I’ll make a point of catching him everynow and then for a snuggle!

That was a thrilling evening with the buns!

        Kathy

That’s great – I bet Lola was a bit jealous though.

              He is a cute-pie.

Yeah, Lola was a bit healous, since she learned to handle the wood floors she’s on the move as soon as she comes down the condo ramp and she kept coming over to the couch and looking up at us. I think she’s losing a bit more weight, too, with all her running around.

She won’t be too happy with me tonight, I dropped her off at the vets this morning for a nail trim and I could see major blue stinkeye being directed my way through the carrier slots as I checked her in.

I like to lay on the floor and have Lola come around at night. I touch her on the butt and she does a little binky straight up in the air, comes down and faces her behind in my face again. She’ll go on with this for several minutes before getting tired and flopping.

                    How exciting!
Now that Daisy knows your his protector, it could be the beginning of a whole new phase.
My little Dutch boy also likes to snuggle against my neck!

                      I has a jealous!

Pepper actually napped on the far end of the couch from me on Sunday – cuz I saw her wake up, stretch and yawn.  That’s a first and she’s been with me almost 2 years!

Aww thats so cute that Daisy snuggled you!! And I’m so happy to hear about Lola – she was so sweet at the shelter. I’m glad to hear she is losing weight and able to finally binky around! If you post a pic of her, Sarite or I could show it to the people at the sanctuary to show what a happy little bun she is!

I knew that by actively choosing an older female that I would not likely get a cuddlebun.  But it was important to me that I give an older bun a chance.  Pepper is just over 4 now, and she has really only started coming out of her shell since last winter.  I give her all the space she needs, and let her just be herself.
