I remember my bunny Masha used to “dig” in the corner of her cage. It was only one corner that she did it in, and I just wanted to know why she was doing it, or if she was just bored 🤣❤️

One of my rabbits does this often. I suspect it’s the instinct to landscape and make a nice little nook to sit/pee in later, haha. Corners are very appealing because they know they are safe with two walls behind them, so it’s a nice space to be vulnerable, rest, etc.. What makes it even nicer is having a little “nook” I imagine! I keep blankets either attached to the corner wall or there generally so my rabbit has something to actively dig there.

Bun Jovi used to do this obsessively at our old place, I’m not really sure why. We used to joke he was working on a tunnel to the neighboring apartment. He’s stopped at our new place though. I think maybe it had to do with the orientation of his old pen, because he would dig in the area near a part of the room he wasn’t allowed in. In our new place when he’s free-roaming he can explore 3 sides of the pen (the fourth is against the wall), so there’s not this unaccessible area he can see but can’t access.
