Have you taken him to the vet? He might be molting. Some buns can loose patches of fur at once. Is he itching or acting weird? Buns molt when seasons change which all bun parents despise

He honestly sounds like he’s going through a molt.

              I bet he’s in a molt.

Don’t worry, molting isn’t a bad thing! It happens to all bunnies 1-2 times a year depending on their environment. (Indoor, outdoor, cold weather or warm weather.)

Basically a molt is when the bunny’s old fur starts to shed away and the new fur comes in. The shedding will be 2-3 times worse than normal due to the molt but it’s nothing to be worried about

Agree, it sounds like a heavy molt! Some buns can look pretty rough when they go through a full molt.

If he’s eating, pooping, and acting normally (and no red or flakey spots on his skin), then there’s nothing to be alarmed about, but do groom him as much as you can to help remove the fur. If he swallows too much grooming himself it can cause tummy troubles.

It’s important to groom your rabbit every day when they are molting, or they will ingest a lot of fur during grooming and this can actually clog up their tubes, making them sick. They cannot cough up hairballs like cats, so once it’s stuck, it’s stuck. Do your best to get the fur you see comes out easily off to help your rabbit!
