My big brother threw a bag of pecans across my room and each of my rabbits got one of them before I picked it up. Being worried, I searched up if pecans were harmful to rabbits, and it said that they could be poisonous! Will my bunnies be OK because they just ate 1?

It should depend on how small or large the rabbit is, if a Netherlands dwarf ate one they may get ill sooner than a larger breed. In my opinion I think that you should keep a very close eye on the rabbits; keep in mind that they cannot throw up so make sure to look for sighs of discomfort or strange behaviors. If you are thinking something is wrong then you should take them to the vet immediately! Even if you have doubts still take them to the vet as a precaution, like if a dog ate a little chocolate (another poisonous substance in animals) you wouldn’t necessarily want to wait to see the vet because they could go downhill. Just keep a watchful eye on your rabbits to see if anything changes! Good Luck I hope nothing is wrong with them

I think it is only poisonous if fed in their diet (so in big amounts). If they only ate one I’d say they’ll be okay. Make sure they eat plenty of hay and Water so it can pass through. Watch their behaviour, if they start being lethargic, not eating or pooping etc. Obviously bring them to the vets immediately

Ok thanks guys! Enzo is a Netherlands dwarf, but he has been really active and happy in the last few hours, I will still keep a eye on them though.

Roasted pecans are probably fine. I’d be more worried about plant parts. They will likely be fine. Just keep an eye.
