my bunny lives in a dog cage in a smallish room and my hamster lives in his hamster cage ontop of my bunnys cage, but the only reason my hamster is in there is because he chews the bars and keeps me awake all night, but as hamsters are nocternal im now worried my rabbit will be kept up all night? wat do you think?, my hamster can be put in a different room if all comes to all, but would it bother my bunny? xxx

If he keeps you awake he is probably keeping your rabbit awake too. I know what you mean about hamsters and their noisy nighttime activities. I’ve always tried to keep my hamster in a climate controlled area away from my bedroom and my rabbits room. If you are limited for space which most people are, I would try to find a bathroom or something like that to put him in – I definitely wouldn’t put him on top of the rabbit cage.

Ditto Sarita-maybe the bathroom? That might be nice for him too because you could leave the light on at night for him. Maybe put him in the hallway when you shower-don’t know what the temperature change and humidity spike might do-may be not good for him; but otherwise he might be happy like that!

You could even get a small end table and put the hamster in a corner of your living room, so he wouldn’t need to be moved. Get a cheap, small area rug for under the table to make cleaning up any scatterings easy by just vacuuming or shaking it out occasionally.
