So last night (well 6am this morning actually) my boyfriend and I were sound asleep when from the living room came a loud crunching crashing paper rustling sound followed by several loud thumps and bumps after which Lion-O ran under the bed and started doing warning thumps on the floor. We both woke up startled and my boyfriend went searching through the apartment expecting to find an intruder or something. Bleery eyed I looked around the living room and discovered that Lion-O’s box full of balled up paper that I sometimes spread out for him to play with was all disheveled looking and several balls of paper were strewn around the room in a path leading towards the bedroom (were his bunny house is). Finding no intruder and assuming that Lion-O had been plundering the paper box we went back to sleep.

Upon waking up this morning I noticed that there was a severely nibbled apple on the living room floor. I then remembered that I had left a (whole) apple on top shelf of a 3-tier bookshelf, infront of which the paper ball box was stored. Apparently Lion-O managed to scale a 3 foot high bookshelf and snatch the apple! I’m guessing when he jumped or fell down he landed in the paper box and that’s what woke us up! I also later found my Slinky under the couch. The Slinky used to live on the 2nd shelf of a different bookshelf! Now it is dead. I’ve seen several dead Slinkys in my time, like when my sister and I were little and were racing our Slinkys down the stairs and they got tangled up. This one, however, is by far the deadest Slinky I’ve ever seen. Lion-O hunted it down and killed it. LOL!!! I’ll try to put a picture of it on here tomorrow.

Also, he had spent the rest of the night dragging paper balls into his bunny house!

that is too funny… what a little stinker!  too bad you don’t live closer.  i am an expert slinky untangler and would offer my services free of charge for the challenge

i came home from work once… opened the front door & froze.  there were papers scattered everywhere in the front hall & i immediately thought some one had broken in.  before i could register that the mess was all shredded paper… hop hop hop skid hop hop hop skid.  baby bun was retreating to her room at top speed realizing she’d been caught in the act!

Hahaha – Oh my goodness that is soo funny!! Thats one of those things where when I figured out what my bunny did I would be so impressed and say “What a gooood bunny!!” and then my fiance would roll his eyes at me and say “good bunny?” I am always so impressed by how smart bunnies are. I wonder if he could smell the apple…

That is hysterical. I found out with my first bun, much to my shock, rabbits are not afraid of hights. This after spending 3 hours, undoing, wrapping and duct tapping computer wires out of sight, only to hear my computer making all these weird beeping noises and finding Fu walking on top of the desk and keyboard. She literally found a path from across the room that brought her to her final destination.

Shadow is even worse. He know he can get from the back of the sofa to the stereo cabinet to get to the fruit bowl on the hutch. I lost apples and a good chunk of banana, peel and all. Moving the bowl does not stop him from looking. Even more terrifying, moving the sofa means he will try to fly across the gap. I have found he can make it over a 3 foot baby gate, he can dumpster dive into a four foot bin containing his litter pellets, dangle off of things he can’t quite make it to, leap into shopping bags (trader joe bags are his favorite) and will use anything as a potential spring board, including the head of a sleeping dog.

As much as I would love to have a free range bunny, I would never have a moments peace wondering if it is safe. Just when you think its all bunny proofed, think again!

*laughing hysterically* I can’t believe he killed a slinky!! And Shadow sounds like a very smart bunny (smart=handful hehe)

                          Oh lordy yes!

The first week I had Pepper she climbed up a ladder in order to get to a loaf of cranberry tea bread I had up on a table.

She also made it up to the top of my desk once and sat down on the keyboard, which turned the computer off standby and it dialed in to my ISP.  Yep – I was out and mu bunny went online.  I think she was probably trying to IM her little bunny friends….

And I recently rearranged my living room, and witnessed her leafing over 3 feet straight up to hang out on the storage trunk I use as a table.  I knew she’d been up there before as she’d nibbled one of the candles, but I thought she was getting up there via the chair or something.

HAHAHA! That was hilarious! What a busy bunny! I’m sure he was a brave slinky, fought til the end. Will a new slinky take it’s place or is your slinky graveyard filled to the brim?

Spacehopper – nice to see ya. We’ve missed ya! I miss your incredible stories too.

Wendy, too funny! A web surfing bunny; hope he was only looking at appropriate sites. I would love to have a cam record what goes on during unsupervised time. I suspect we would all have a few more gray hairs.
