My first bunny love

This is Gizmo an English Angora bun along with Skye. They are the reason I fell in love with bunnies. Gizmo was my first bun and he was so funny. Not a good choice for a first bun when you have no experience but at the time I knew no better. Gizmo was a lover not a fighter. You could put any female bun around him and he was happy. He never did get neutured. The day I dropped him off for his appointment I got a call from the vet asking “ME” where his testies were? Ok I said. Come to find out they never descended so even though I could not get him neutured he did really well with the potty. Before Skye came along he really did’nt drop any balls around. After Skye you would have thought he was the kernel popping. When they were out together I would dress him up in a diaper and onsie just to make sure they did not mate. You know that was probably about the only time he’d try to shred his clothes apart. Other than “play time” he never minded getting dressed and neither did she. I had started dressing them when they were young so they were used to it. I used to take them to my nursing home where I work to visit the residents. At work they were like celebrities, everybody knew their names especially Gizmo.

they don’t look real! they never minded having clothes on? they probably couldn’t feel them thru all that fur! there is a farm about 5 minutes away from me that has 3 REW angora babies for sale (75 bucks) on craigslist. i’ve had to PHYSICALLY RESTRAIN myself on more than one occasion form emailing or calling.

English Angoras are very docile. From the day he/they came home I used to hold them all the time. As far as dressing them I first just started putted the diapers on with the onsies. Without the onsies he would just hop right out of them. The onsies kept the diaper in place. I would pull their tail to the side. Skye liked being dressed and had the cutest mini ruffle skirt. gizmo did not mind being dressed either. If we were at home for the day then he would’nt want any clothes on.  I would go to discount stores to get their clothes. As far as their fur, I tried to keep them with a puppy cut.

No way are they real!  They look so much like stuffed animals.  I cannot believe they are real.  I’m just dumbfounded. I’m sure you got them at Toys R Us! Just kidding.  They are truly gorgeous!

I loved the idea of dressing him up in order to avoid unwanted pregnancy. What an idea.

Well Gizmo could not be neutured and Skye was not yet old enough to get spayed. It really helped and it works and there was then no need to have separate play times/areas for them. They could always be together. At bedtime he slept in his cage and she slept in hers right next to him. He would still try to mount her (with clothes on but not always) but there was nothing to worry about. Before long they’d be snuggled together sleep sleep somewhere.

lol, You know even to see them in person people would ask me the same thing. Where they really real, even while holding them. The only way you could tell is to watch their noses twitch. That would be the only clue.

WOW! Those have to be the cutest bunnies i’ve ever seen!  Never seen someone dress up a bunny. soo cute!
