        hello, newbie here!

my husband and i just got a baby bunny (hershey) and she’s been with us for 2 weeks, she is almost 8 weeks old and so cute!

anyway she is a mini lop and one of her ears have not flopped down yet, the breeder we got her from said it will happen eventually…just wondering if anyone knows how long it will take for her ear to flop down?

although she is quite cute with 1 up and 1 down.

        hershey

Ah, the classic “helicopter head” or “propeller ears”! They are so cute! My Fluffy has those – sometimes they both flop down, sometimes one is up, the other down. As your bunny grows, chances are the ear will flop down. With any luck, your bunny will still be able to manipulate the ear to this adorable cock-eyed position, which is especially lethal when they beg for treats! No one can turn down a bunny with propeller ears! SO CUTE!

how cute!!!!!! i think it should probably happen soon. altho some buns are always in a half-lop stage… but i think that’s rare.

Hello Naz! Welcome to BinkyBunny! I’m not sure how long it will take your bunny’s other ear to flop down, as all 7 of my bunnies are straight eared ones – but I do have one that is a semi-lop, and I can tell you that no matter how your bunny’s ears flop, she’ll still be super cute and sweet!

i LOVE your avatar pic!!!!!!!!! so adorable! even when it flops, she mught be able to always move that one around a little bit. we learned not long ago the reason why bun ears flop, it has to do with the muscles in the head.

hershey is so adoreable!   welcome here

my very first bun binky had only one flopped ear when i adopted him.  i don’t remember how long it took to flop like the other ear but it sure was dang cute!  i’ve had 3 lop bunbuns and he was the only one who could lift his ears straight up.  it was so funny.  when he heard a loud / strange noise both ears would stand straight up so that they looked like exclamation points with his eyes    both of my other lops ears swing forward & twist slightly when they want to hear something better which i think is more typical.  maybe hershey will be able to add exclamation points to loud noises too!?!  you’ll have to keep us updated!

Welcome. So ADORABLE! There was a discusson about this awhile back, and if I remember right, I think it was 10 – 12 weeks on average is when they fully drop. So that being the “average”, it could happen a bit sooner or later than that. When I tried to do google search, it was all over the place with answers, but anywhere from 9 – 16 weeks seemed to be the most common answers with a google search.
