Are we allowed to give a vet’s name on this site?   Anyway,  my vet is in Southern New Jersey, USA.  I asked him recently about his training in rabbit medicine, and he told me a bunch of different places he studied and the extra years of internship he did in rabbit medicine.  I like him.   There were other rabbit vets around here, but one retired, one moved.   There’s 2 in this vet practice I like, but one is on maternity leave, so that leaves this one vet.  Am I allowed to give his name if someone asks???

I do beleive you can.  When someone comes on hunting for a vet in their area people usually give a help with it.

I’m fairly sure you are allowed as we do talk about some well known vets and rabbit people on here by name (like Dana Krempel, Auntie Heather, and Dr. Harvey)…What you don’t want to do is say anything bad about someone (anyone really unless you don’t identify them). If you do say something bad about someone and give their name, you could technically be liable….But no one would raise a stink about you saying good things about them

I’m glad you found a good vet!  Here are what our rules state about vet referral, etc:  The part about vet referral is in the 2nd paragraph.

Vet Information & Vet Referrals:   It is okay to refer a particular vet when someone asks for it or if it is subject related.

Even if someone posts their vet or facility recommendation to you, it is still your responsibility to screen the vet and the facilities.  BinkyBunny.com and the person that gives you the vet reference is not responsible for what happens in the referred veterinarian’s care. That is between you and the veterinarian.  So always be sure to check out any referred vet for yourself.

Regarding negative experiences with a vet or animal hospital:  For your own legal protection we suggest that you never actually name the vet’s name or group when saying anything negative about them.

So normally it’s not a problem if you name a vet UNLESS you have somethng negative to say.

Negative Reviews of Pet Stores, Vet Hospitals, Individual Vets and any other individuals:  So, you saw horrible conditions at a pet store, your vet was terrible, and you had to deal with the rudest receptionist.  Those things are monumentally frustrating! We understand, but for your own legal protection keep actual names of individuals and businesses out of your posts.   According to the Communications Decency Act, you the individual poster in an online forum, is legally responsible for these statements, and so if a company or individual wants to pursue a lawsuit against you, they can track you down (IF a court orders it) by your IP address (even if it changes).
