Onyx is 2, I rescued him.  He free roam, only uses his cage to use the litter.. Always keep cage clean but in passed month or so been pulling out the litter pan to the middle of the cage and going potty in the corner.  Tries to dump the litter over and wrecks his cage.. I don’t know why.  Nothing in his life has changed..   Everything is normal other then that. Any suggestions or advice..

has he been neutered? rabbits that arent spayed/neutered can be very destructive.

does he have a lot of toys to play with? sometimes rabbits will do these type of things if they are bored. try giving him some new toys to keep him busy.

This isn’t unusual. Sometimes bunnies just suddenly discover something is “fun”. Can you use a litter screen to deter digging? Then all you would need is a way to anchor to litter box down.

Thank you for responses..   He is neutered. He has a litter pan with a grate in it, so he doesn’t dig, doesn’t even touch the litter he  just tries to dump over.. But, he’s never in there.  Only to use the litter & he’s chewing all the sides up..  I have to order a new one..  Has lots of toys but doesn’t even both with them..  I’ll try a new pan ( because he ruined his ) & new toys..

A trick I’ve seen to deal with this is to get two litter pans that are identical. Drill a couple holes in the side of one, and use a cable tie to anchor it to the pen wall in the corner you want it in. Then put the other litter pan inside and set it up as you normally would.

I also recently started using dish bussing trays as litter pans. They are super thick plastic and my buns have been less inclined to chew on the edges (and they are heavy so harder to toss around).

Last tip, Bun Jovi went through a phase of doing this a couple years ago. I started giving him organic palm plates to chew instead and it helped a ton. I also would clamp some strips of cardboard to the edge of the litter box so he would chew that instead of the plastic.
