So Lucy has taken to grunting.  She chews and chews and chews at her cage, and she’s never done that before.  So I went over, because it wasn’t her time to get out yet, I tried to pet her nose to calm her down and she grunted!  She’s getting more aggressive as well.  I used to be able to put my hand in her cage to give her treats and lettuce and such, now she lunges at me.  It’s been like this for about 2-3 days, so I’m wondering if this is maybe her first bunny period?  Once she’s out of the cage she’s fine.  She gets at LEAST 5 hours a day.  She’s on a schedule, but she’s just been insufferable the past few days.  Help

Sounds like darling bunny girl has hormones acting up.   She needs a spay.    They dont’ have cycles like people , cats, dogs do.   They can become pregnant at anytime they are with a male bun.

I am not saying you have her with a male bun  just trying to explain about buns.

When hormones kick in they become cage aggressive cranky and downright obnoxious.  Chewing more all these are signs spay day is near.

That’s what I thought. I had an appointment, oddly enough, for today. I just switched jobs though and I don’t get paid until Friday, but they don’t do surgeries on Fridays! So she’s going to have to get in next week. That’s what I figured, thanks for responding
