I didnt want to simply update the other thread cause this is more of a thank you. You guys were very helpful and at the least made me feel a little better. Dax was doing very well it seemed but this morning he wouldnt take his medicine and has only gotten worse. I thought he was gonna be ok but he isnt moving at all and has not touched water or food today.

He had some poops on him so i got a warm rag and whiped him off then dryed him and let him lay on a dry blanket till I cleaned up his cage. I came over after I was done and pet him and when he hopped he flopped on his side and it was like he was trying to run. He then got up to his feet and has been still since.

The only time he moved was when my wife while checking him over got too close to his butt. He dashed a few feet away from her but has been still since. I dont know enough to assume anything but im guessing its not good. Im pretty heartbroken. Is there anything I can do to make him comfortable incase hes dying? I feel terrible.

Zack, sometimes bunnies flop when they are content – do you think it could be that?

On another note, how long since he’s eaten? Have you tried enticing him with any greens?

Yeah I went out and picked the grass he likes, and he wont even sniff it. Plus he LOVES his medicine lol, this is the first time he didnt come burning all four tires off out to get it. He is huddled in a little box in his cage with his face buried between his paws and hasnt moved in hours. Hes still breathing but im worried. I knew it was a 50/50 chance of him making a full recovery. Im starting to think he has issues from birth and that I just bought him some time. I dont know.

Can you take him to the vet again? What is the medicine you are giving him?

What did the vet say was wrong with him?

I just called the vet. She said that what im discribing sounds like whatever he had damaged him on a neralogical level. I just checked on him again and he isnt responding to light or movement and hes laying on his side. …. I think hes gone. Poor little thing. All I can say is I tryed. Cryed my eyes out. Feel like I lost a kid.

Yeah its official. Just checked him out. I found him a little box, made sure he fit it ok.

Found him a nice place in the yard.

                    Thanks guys and gals.

I’m sorry Zack. (((HUGS!))) That little bunny was so lucky to have had such a loving family, even for the short time he was here. No bunny could have asked for more. Who know why this happened, it may have just been an issue he was born with, but he is at peace now, and I know he’ll forever have a special place in your hearts.

                      (((Binky Free Dax!)))

I’m trying to recall if he was a from a breeder. If so, you may want to give them a head’s up. If other people have had similar things happen, there might be something going on there that they can address.

oh, I’m so sorry he didn’t make it, Zack, I know how bad it hurts to lose one like that. I will say a prayer for your bun and hugs to you and your wife. He sounds like he had a great life, no matter how long or short it was and was lucky to have you for bunny parents.
