Hi Everyone, I just noticed that my 8 months old male rabbit’s private part looked strange. I went to Google and realised that it doesn’t look like a normal buck’s private part. Please help me have a look and advise! Thank you!!

Something went wrong with the pic attachment and I can only see a small version, but the color doesn’t seem right… is that his penis? or is it one testicle?
Anyways, I’d take him to the vet to be checked as soon as possible to make sure he’s ok

Go to a vet. It either looks like a growth or something is very swollen

It looks like a hernia to me. Had your boy been desexed?

Get him looked over, it might be a hernia, Jersey knows more about rabbits than me, it could be an infection like boys get and its swollen, if it is a hernia the vet can sort it out for him, or give him some medicine if it is an abscess, usually abscesses are very red, but I can’t see very well because of my eyes, but get him to a vet as soon as possible, it could be painful and rabbits hide illness and pain and just leave it because if you keep touching it and its an abscess it can burst and cause more problems, also some animals if they have something wrong with them and you keep touching they are like children and ‘Ooh what’s this?’ And start scratching.

Hi all, thank you so much for getting back to me. My dear boy hasn’t been desexed! And it is only today that I noticed this because is is really quite furry down there and he won’t let me flip him over. I am bringing him to the vet ASAP! Will keep you guys updated! Thank you!

Had you ever seen his testicle before at all? Rabbits can pull them back up into the abdomen, so sometimes its a game of hide-and-seek.   Possibly it is a single testicle that has descended. But it is also possible that some of the intestine slips down in the same canal and into the scrotal sack. After netuter, I believe they close off the top to prevent that happening.

Hello everyone! It was a false alarm! Yes it was one of his testicles! I didn’t know rabbits can have such big testicles. LOL! Went to the vet and she showed me the hidden testicle. It was so small that it got hidden in his fur! The vet told me that there’s no need to worry for now and see if the other testicle catches up in growth when my rabbit is fully matured.

                      Thanks everyone!
