I have a brother and sister who are neutered and spayed. They have always got on fine, but he keeps humping her and pulling at her fur. I thought this would stop when he was done. Please help/advise.

After they’re spayed and neutered, they need to be bonded, which is a formal process that is more complex than just putting them together. Separate them, and read the bonding info provided at this website that talks about pre bonding, dates, and supervision.

How long ago were they fixed? For males, the hormones still last ( and so does the sperm cells, so he could still impregnate her, although they are siblings) a couple months after their neuter. Lemme post the link for the bonding info so that you could get some more help from that.

There! That should take you to our bonding page, in case you can’t find it.
Here’s another page that shows the general bonding information.

It is important that you take time for each step of bonding until you are sure they are ready to move on to the next one. If not, you could cause a lot of stress and frustration in your rabbits. Good luck! I also recommend reading the other threads in the Bonding section of the forums to see how others go through this. It is a long and often difficult process that requires a lot of patience and care.

How long ago were they spayed/neutered? Hormones may or may not be at play here. It’s important to remember that humping is a normal part of the bonding process. So it is going to happen. If they were spayed/neutered recently, then I would wait for their hormones to die down. Separate them and try bonding them again once they are done being hormonal. If they are no longer hormonal, then the humping you are seeing is the male attempting to show that he is top bun.
