In our home we celebrate our diversity and practice both Lutheran (me) and Jewish (dh) traditions.. part of our nightly routine includes prayer, something we have done since our children were born.. the same prayer i had growing up minus “In Jesus’ name we pray” as a way to keep things fairly neutral and per my DH request.
I wasnt sure where I should post it as it didnt seem to quite fit any of the other genres in this section of the forum but i did want to share it.
Here is Elliott my 4yr saying his nightly prayers, please excuse the 2yo gurgling his water

awww. your son is quite a cutie! nice to hear that the prayer has been updated since my youth. my gma used to say this prayer with my sis & i when we were there for sleep overs but it was the “if i die before i wake” version. didn’t seem wierd at the time but hearing it now i think that version is best left to the metallica song and not for children to recite before bed! my oh my how times change
