Moving?

Hello!

Recently I’ve been thinking of moving the bunnies from their garage (connected to my house, very cosy) to the conservatory, where they can get more natural light and temperatures. It’s also a lot more convenient for us, as it takes a while to get to the garage from the main area.

I’m worried about if they will settle in,if they will adjust to the temperatures (gets quite cold, but has heating) and if they’ll have enough space. If we do move them, I’m planning to take down their old hutch, maybe sell it, and build a pen for them with a dog crate attached. Is this enough? I do want to bunny proof the area, so they can spend most of their day there. When it starts to rain, storm or snow I might move them into the lounge, but there isn’t that much room there. Hi! How many square feet is the conservatory?/How large of an area would be their living space in the pen + dog crate? It certainly sounds like a nice idea to have them closer to your living space so they could get more human attention Is the conservatory an indoor or outdoor space? You mention storms and rain… Is it predator-proofed? Cold isn’t too much of a concern with rabbits since they have nice fur coats! Most places I have seen recommend keeping rabbits in areas above 40˚F. Heat is more of an issue, does the Conservatory get very warm during the summer?

I personally wouldn’t worry much about them settling into a new space, it would help if you kept their litter-box, toys other objects consistent!

Hi! Not sure about square feet, it’s around 2.5m wide and 1.5m long. If they did move in, the crate would be 60 x 45 x 51 and the pen would be 65 x 76. The conservatory is indoor and connected to my house. It’s very secure, the door can be locked and all the windows that can be opened are at the very top of the windows and can be locked. The heat is just the same as outdoors and possibly a little cooler.
