We start our cross-country drive with the 4 bunnies, cat, and leopard gecko tomorrow! Trying not to be nervous but I am so nervous.
Thankfully our vet gave us metacam, gabapentin, and fluids, so I think we should be able to deal with any stress-related issues. Also got rescue remedy and feliway… But STILL, so much anxiety!
I’m planning to try having all 4 together on the journey, with the hopes that I will have a quad by the time we get there (I’ll have extra carriers in case that doesn’t work though). They are definitely more calm around each other now than the first time I tried, so hopefully it works out.
Please send any and all positive and calming vibes!

Woo-hoo on the buns’ getting along better!!
You sound like you have everything ready! 🙂 I think the car drive will go smoother than you think! 😉
(((((((Sending calming vibes)))))))
Oh, and as I forgot to add in my last post, SEND US PICTURES!!!! 😀
Haha thank you! And yes hopefully once we get on the road I will feel calm enough to take photos along the way. We should be passing some amazing scenery! I’ve always envied those people with cats that are good travelers and wear a harness comfortably, but unfortunately I think the ship has sailed on that one with our cat.

So many good travelling (((((vibes)))))!
I hope you’ll have a great trip! The pets will get to put so many new states and interesting places in their little pet CVs! 😃
I’m sending some positive thoughts and vibes your way! I’m sure it will go smooth, they have you for comfort and all the preparation you could possibly have 🙂
And great opportunity to bond the quad, I hope that works out too!
Thank you! 😀

Good luck Dana! I can’t imagine driving that far with all those animals.
Good luck! I’m sure everything will go fine, you’re well prepared. 🙂
And yes, we need lots of road trip pictures please! 😀
Apparently Cooper can’t wait to go, as he jumped his pen this morning and was binkying around the room! Glad he at least got some zoomies out before being in a carrier all day. I had made their pens smaller to make it easier to break down today, and he is NOT pleased about it.

Good luck DanaNM! Hope your buns travel well
Made it to our first stop in AZ!
Everyone did great in the car and seems to be doing ok in the hotel! Might separate the pairs overnight but not sure yet.

Aww, look at them all together, so cute! 😀 The kitty is like “This ain’t my bed…” 😆
Seems like things are going well! How is the gecko taking it?
Hope everything is going well! Such cute animals. 💜
I know it’s not a pleasant experience… but so cute…. seeing them in the carrier together, haha. Best wishes!!!

I agree with everyone seeing those 4 bunnies together is so adorable! Hopefully they got to stay together at the hotel. And your cat claiming the bed! I’m glad everyone had a good first day.
OMG, look at all of them together! They are so adorable! I agree with Wick… not a pleasant experience, but totally worth it.
Just wanted to updated that we made it to Massachusetts safe and sound yesterday! Will have to post more details and photos later… I ended up having to separate the pairs into separate carriers because on the second day they started scuffling in the carrier towards the end of the day (I rode the last hour with Cooper on my lap….). I had separated them the first night too, because it was way too crazy and we all needed to rest. I decided that if they were going to fight in a brand new hotel and in a carrier after that much driving (2 full days) then it just wasn’t worth the stress on all of us. So Cooper and Bonnie get downstairs, Myra and BJ get upstairs. I’m at peace with it. :p
I did have to syringe feed Myra pretty much every morning and evening the second days 3-4. I gave fluids to the girls on day 3. Days 2 and 3 of driving were the longest, so I think it was just hard on them.
Toby did great, which was awesome.
My new landlord met the buns and we’re going to do an easter photoshoot with her son (he’s only about 3). So we’re all doing great!

Glad to hear that you all arrived safely!
Wishing you all the best in your new home ^_^
Yay Dana! Glad to hear you made it in one piece!
Congrats on getting through the trip without too much hassle, I’m sure it was stressful knowing how hard it was for them.
Yay, so happy you made it! 🙂
great to hear!!
Thanks everyone!
Now we just need our moving truck to arrive… it keeps getting delayed so I feel like we are camping in our house!

Fingers crossed it’ll arrive soon!
Camping in your house. Thats so funny. I know you will be glad to see your things arrive.
Waaait a minute !!!
Okay, so I’ve missed the arrival of Cooper and that you have 4 buns together.
What an event moving 2 hooms & 6 critters across the country. Happy to hear you arrived safe & sound.
p.s. love the violet in your hair! I wear mine short also and was just looking through photos this morning for inspiration. I hate how often I have to get it cut lol
Haha! Yes we have 4 buns, but as two pairs (Bun Jovi and Myra, and Cooper and Bonnie). They seem very happy separate for now, and with BJ’s age I just didn’t have it in me to push for a quad. Plus they have somewhat different bunny-proofing needs, so having them in different parts of the house is easier in some ways. We finally got their permanent condos set up and finished bunny proofing yesterday. Our moving truck was about a week delayed so we couldn’t really build anything or finish their set-ups until a couple days ago.
And it was quite the event! But it went about as smooth as it could have. The mini-van rental was crucial, and La Quinta Inns were our best friend.
Thanks about my hair! It’s actually super long right now (haven’t cut it since before the quarantimes), you can only see my bangs in the picture. I do love having my hair super short but the maintenance is so annoying. I was shaving my head for a while and am tempted to do it again once it warms up a bit!

I’m gonna go head and take credit for Dana adopting Cooper, that was all me. 😉
That’s fair Hazel!

Cooper is such a sweetie!
<<< That’s me green with envy!
He’s so cute! 😀
He is the most ridiculous creature… and is VERY happy to finally have space to run around and binky! The few months since we got him were all at my in-laws place and all the buns pretty much had the minimum space, they are all so much happier now! It’s just been flops and binkies all around. 🙂

Awww I want a Cooper! So good they have more space now!
He is such a cuddle bug but he is also a huge handful! Getting into so much mischief and he can be a bit nippy when you stop petting him before he’s ready. LOL
