Im moving my bunny from inside to outside to see how it goes because my room is just not big enough for it, I love my rabbit it is just really hard. I have built him a nice cage that i think will work out, it is going to be insulate way better for when it starts to get colder, (live in Canada) I would just like some tips and pointers on what will be best for my bunny, Thanks!

Make sure it’s very secure so that no foxes or anything can get in or reach through the bars. Make sure bunny can’t dig or jump out, and that nothing can dig in. A secure latch, preferably with a bolt or something that isn’t easily flicked loose is a must. Make sure it’s protected from winds because while rabbits tolerate cold well, the cold wind is really what can make them ill more than the cold air itself.

We got two things for when “our” rabbits were still outdoors (this was when they still belonged to the neighbors)

First, we got a couple of heating pads that turn on automatically when the temperature gets below a certain temperature.
We mounted one to the *ceiling* of a wooden “cave” we made for them so they could snuggle in the warmer space, and
the other we made sure was covered so their feet weren’t directly on the heating pad. (You can also buy covers for the heating pad)

The other thing we got them was a water bottle with a similar thermostat. It turns out they prefer to drink out of a bowl, but this at least
kept them in water through the winter:

            Here’s the bowl version:
