         Hello all,

So I’m lost here.  Snoopy was neutered almost two months ago and he poops tons in his cage and sometimes in his favorite places around the apt.  We put a stuffed animal out for him some weeks ago and he never paid any attention to it.  Today he was mounting it and apparently humping it too!  I was surprised.  For a while I was wondering if the vet had botched up the neuter.  Is that possible?  Is it normal for neutered rabbits to mount/hump?  It’s been two months so it’s not like it was some weeks ago.

        Any input would be appreciated.

All I know is one reason for mounting is a sign of dominance. Usually when you try to bond 2 rabbits one will end up humping the other to show that rabbit that it is the “dominant one”. Pudge has been neutered for years and he still tries to mount Polo. Snoopy’s horomones probably still haven’t calmed down is my *guess*

My male rabbit humps my female rabbit several times a day. They’ve been bonded for just over a year, and he has been neutered for at least 2-3 years. If you remove the toy, does he hump other things? Are you planning on bonding him with another bun?

We are not thinking of getting another yet.  I would like to, but my husband is being very tolerant in letting the girls have a free roaming rabbit as a pet for now.  I don’t want to press my luck.  DH wasn’t really an animal lover since he was never really exposed to animals growing up…so I a playmate is no where in sight now.

I have not seen him do it anywhere else.  I will j\keep an eye on him.

              Thanks,

              M
