The baby bunnies are about 6 weeks old now.  They eat like pigs and play like dogs. I dont think they know that they are rabbits yet. I was wondering when I should start their monthly check-ups. The usuals… nail clipping, scent glands…… Their bottoms have been clean so far but their nails are very sharp and getting longer.

If you are doing the trimming, you should feel free to do it whenever you feel that they need clipping. It is never too young to begin with clips. As for everything else, I’ll let others chime in as i’ve never been good about the ‘at what age to do what’.

I want to trim my babies too they are so sharp but I am scared to bcuz she is dark and I dont’ want to hit a quick I almost did trim but then I saw how short they were. but I guess you can snip a little off why not. I was gona use a nail file to remove the sharpness lol haven’t gotten to it yet tho

might as well get them used to the routine of cleaning, checking and clipping

I remember one of the threads mentioned trimming in a way I hadn’t heard of before.
I think they said that you can trim just a little bit off the tips, but do it much more frequently. It takes care of the problem but doesn’t get near the quick. Could you try it with IBFeda?

At The Haven, we do not clip the nails of babies.  My understanding is that babies have very long, skinny nails so they have long quicks.  When my foster babies were scratching us alot, the people at the rescue suggested filing the ends of the nails down with an emery board.  I seem to remember something about 3 months being the point where you can really trim them, but I am not sure.
