The bunny at my barn has what I believe to be an abcess on his lower jaw. I mentioned it to his owner who said she will take him to the vet. I noticed it last week and she still hasn’t taken him. It’s really big today when I went to see him, like the size of a small grape. He is still eating. I’m very worried. I mentioned how dangerous an abcess can be to a rabbit. I’m so fed up with worrying about other people’s rabbits but I see this bun everyday and I love him and it’s hard to see him not getting veterinary care.

UGH! Mention to the owner how expensive it can be to treat if left for too long. If that doesn’t do it, call the OSPCA. I hate it when other people don’t take responsibility and care for their animals, and it’s even worse if you have to see it everyday.

That’s awful. Keep pestering them about it and give them a phone number of a savvy vet.

ugh. i hate that. i bet if their horse had a huge abscess (the size of a grapefruit since that would be to scale) the vet would know about it. if they don’t respond, i would contact the authorites.
