So we went for our biweekly trip to petsmart yesterday and I saw a lot of the merchandise that they are replacing the old stuff with.  I am VERY happy to say that while they don’t have nearly as huge of cages as a lot of our NIC condos and pens are..they did have some new rabbit cages that are much more rabbit friendly size.  Any of the old cages they had were GONE.  I can’t remember the name of this new cage brand that they had but it looked really nice..if it wasn’t so much I would have bought Tucker one for when he stays with my friend while I’m away.  (In case any of you remember that post..one of my work friends said she’d keep him at her house and she has no kids and no pets AND she works at home like me..so I’m just going to bring over some of my NIC grids and make him a temporary pen to stay in at her house for the four days) They also had these cages for guinea pigs and ferrets and stuff now.

Also they have ALOT of oxbow products  now. Unfortunately no papaya tablets or the bunny timothy pellets..they had the bunny alfalfa pellets and the guinea pig timothy brand.

They had gotten rid of a lot of the bunny treats that really aren’t good for them..although they did have SOME of the goody goodys that are really baddy baddys haha.   They had a lot more litter training stuff, a lot more appropriate bunny toys and a lot more hay products.

They DID have guinea pigs again but they were an adoption type thing..and I saw one of the workers discouraging a young girl from buying just ONE of them and explaining to the mom the work and diet and stuff that they require.  So..that’s good atleast.

Well needless to say I walked out of there with a lot more then I had initially planned to buy but Tucker is thrilled with his new toys and pen accessories.

They had these carrot and celery toys that were on clearance..they’re edible and flingable..they had them on clearance for 2.00 compared to 5.99 at the other store and Tucker LOVES the carrots and the hamsters like the celery..so I bought all their remaining packs and now we have a stock pile of them lol

my two like those carrot things aswell, hopscotch loves these little flavoured willow sticks you can get, daxter always throws them out of his house whenever he gets to LOL then hopscotch goes round looking for it, i pee myself everytime
Im glad to see they are raising their standards, lets hope some of it rubs off on the stores over here. In one of the pet stores by me they had 4 large rabbits (about a foot long i would say so quite big compared with my 2) anyway all sharing one of those indoor rabbit cages which i wouldnt really think was ideal for 1 bunny. So i complained to the rspca in my area and they went round and told them to do something about it and if they come back and find more animals in bad condition they will ban them from selling animals, so far they have been quite good each time i go in i hate it in there but i go back to check on the bunnys make sure they arent stuffed together again.

Oh cool I am going to have to go check them out. I will call my store here to see if they are doing the same. Even Walmart here is stocking timmy hay instead of only alfalfa. Cool. And they have carefresh litter nowadays too. Not that pine stuff.

I was walking in their store when they only had bad rabbit stuff and made a comment. Hopefully some store mgr heard and got the good healthy stuff in.

            Yeah for Petsmart.

OH gosh Ruby is getting jealous and climbing all over me. I hold her when I am on computer.
