Hello again.  I did not have any luck with the paper bag filled with hay, Comet barely touched it.  All he really goes crazy for is his pellets.  Going to the pet store tonite to look for a different kind of hay that I’ll have better luck with.  Maybe some kind of hay blend will do the trick.  Picking up more veggies at the grocery store to try out too.

I’ve had Comet for 6 days now (woo hoo!!!) and I have yet to see him binky.  He’s very comfortable in his new home and gets out to play (supervised) every evening (will be out more on weekends) but all he does is hop around and dig sometimes.  How long before you saw your rabbit binky?  What if he never binkies?  Does that mean he’s not really that happy?  He’s kind of just a big lounger right now.

My dog Lexi (german shepherd) is very interested in him.  She sits by the gate in front of the bunny room and just watches Comet all the time.  I let her in the room when I am in there but not when Comet is out of his cage.  I want to introduce them without the cage separating them but I need my dog to calm down about him first.  They’ve touched noses through the cage several times.  Comet doesn’ t seem scared of the dog at all.  He seems to like watching her too.  Maybe one day they’ll even be friends.

He is soooo good about using his litter.  He has not had one single pee accident and only a few poops here and there end up on the floor instead of his litter.  I think I lucked out in that department.

Not all bunnies binky but it doesn’t mean they are unhappy. I think lounging means he is content too. I have some rabbits that binky for everything and some I’ve never seen binky at all. I think some rabbits are just more shy than others.

Don’t be too discouraged about the hay either – I’m sure he will finally get curious and try it.

Some buns bunky more than others.  Pepper gets the "zooms" – back and forth the length of teh apartment, but only binkies on rare occasions.  Everybun’s personality is different.

Coney has started doing zooms. He will start in the living room and run (it is so fast he seems blurry) under the end table back behind the couch all the way around and back into the living room again. He does this about four times nonstop then he just flops in the middle of the couch for a break. It cracks me up. He will also start running across the living room and binky. My daughter got really scared because this is the first time she has ever seen it and she tought he was hurt. Connor does not do either. He won’t even venture out for a stroll. He just sits in his litter box all the time.

It took mine about 2 1/2 weeks to get settled in to where they started to Binky. They do it most often when a human is not present though and the bunny 500 too. They are just too cute!
