  Moonshine has been neutered for a while now. But he still humps everything and circles me like crazy. I was changing his water bowl to a new one and turned around to grab it and he was on top of it just doing his thing. My poor cat Popcorn is terrified of him because he jumped the gate (this bun could be an olympian with how high he can jump) and I looked in the hallways and he had Popcorn pinned to the floor. Poor cat!
  
  I have to literally do a fast swap when cleaning his enclosure because if he sees my legs it is on. He will chase me down. First, he starts circling then honking and grunting before going in for the kill.
  
  I’ve had quite a few bunnies over the years and he is the first that has been super aggressive about his humping.
  
  Anyone else have this experience?

  Do you think he’s humping for dominance? Or is it “I love you”? The circling sounds like “I love you”, but if he’s neutered…
  
  Was everything normal down there? Both testicles in place and were removed?

  I just read your old thread regarding his neuter.
  
  His “bits” could be found but the vet couldn’t be found? Lol! It seems there was a rigmarole getting him finally neutered. Are you 100% sure the vet you wanted to do the procedure was the one to do it in the end?
  
  You do mention that one testicle was delayed descending though. Did it finally come down before he went in for the procedure?

  He just turned 2 in April.
  
  Lol yeah getting him neutered was an ordeal. Seriously how does one lose a person? Was I in the operating room when they performed the surgery? Nope. All I know is the vet I wanted to do the surgery was supposed to be the one who did it. But for all I know the receptionist who lost the vet could have been back there doing it. Lol. Love the vet but hate the clinic.
  
  His testicle did drop fully before he was neutered.

  Hmm, interesting. I only ask because unexplained humping can be related to bladder stones.

  That was my first instinct as well but when he was checked everything looked fine. He acts like an unaltered bun he sprays everywhere and humps everything in sight.

  Hi Sonn! Humping your leg or honking didn’t really set anything off for me, but being persistent about it, pinning the cat down, and spraying sure don’t sound normal. Maybe start with getting the vet to check his hormone levels, if that’s possible? Complete blood workup? It almost sounds like he’s still got some source of hormones feeding the activity. In the mean time, I’d suggest knee socks for you!

  You make a good point about hormones feeding the activity.
  
  @ Sonn, Rumball started some hormonal behaviour aged around 6. I’ve also heard or it happening with other desexed males starting around age range 5-7yrs old. It’s not really known why but Ive heard it likened to adrenal tumours like in ferrets. Some owners have even had their rabbits put on lupron.
  I was not able to investigate much with Rumball because I was told they don’t have the normal hormone assay data available for rabbits. Im assuming desexed rabbits.
  I don’t know if that is accurate, tbh.
  But if you suspect the could be a hormone imbalance going on with him, maybe a thyroid function test could shed some light?

  I wonder if hermaphroditism could cause something like this also? So if a rabbit was castrated but female sex organs left in place as they were not known to be present, then in time they caused some hormonal changes. Humping and spraying is not a buck only behaviour…
