› FORUM › THE LOUNGE › Moonshine getting neutered!
The time has finally come! He is over a year old and my vet has finally given me the green light to get him neutered. I wanted to get him neutered earlier but the vet wanted to hold off until he was at least a year old. He was going to be neutered a few months ago but one of his testicles had not descended.
I am happy and extremely nervous. I’ve been down this road more than once but it is still nerve wracking every time.
I drop him off Wednesday morning before I go to work and pick him up at 5pm. ![]()

((((((Moonshine))))))
So many goood neuter- and – recovery vibes for this special little long-eared boy!
I feel the same way! My Chommy will be getting neutered in around a months’ time, and I’m QUITE nervous.
Sending good neuter and good vibes to Moonshine!!

Lol, it always is! You’d think you’d get used to it but nope..
Good luck Moonshine!
I know! With all of the bunnies and foster cats I have I basically have someone neutered or spayed on a regular basis. This should be routine for me.
But nope nerve galore.
Thanks for the good vibes! I’ve stocked up on his favorite foods and prepared myself for grumpy pants.
neuters are stressful business, heck i even get antsy when we take ours in for a claw trim or a checkup. he’ll do fine!
we’ll be thinking of you both.
and off topic, i first misread this as “moonshine getting ordered” haha. keep us posted

Keep us updated-and try not to stress too much (I know I do!).
I dropped Mooney off at 7:30 this morning. ![]()

Got a call at 1:30 and had to pick him up. His neuter has been rescheduled for next Wednesday. The vet ended up in a surgery a lot longer than expected and didn’t want him to sit stressed in a cage longer than necessary.
So guess I am doing it all over next week. Yay………… Lol.
You seem to have a good, painstaking vet who knows the importance of not stressing a bunny. That’s good!
Now spoil him. (Moonshine that is, not the vet.)
I appreciated that she would rather me bring him home than have him sit in the holding cage for who knows how long. He gets really stressed in new places.
How does one spoil an already spoiled rotten bun????
I know, it’s a real dilemma, I have the same problem here =)
Same thing happened ond Biancas spay so I know how that can be a bit nerve wrecking.
(((Moonshine))) for the next week.
And as bam said that’s a tough one.
P.S. love his name lol.
Aww…that’s too bad it didn’t work out for this week.
((((Vibes)))) for next week!
Your vet seems very kind. Too bad about the neuter though. ((((more vibes))))
Today is the day (again)!!!
sending lots of vibes for Moonshine xxx
Hope it all goes well, Sonn.
Any update? Hope all is well. ![]()
I am getting ready to drop him off.
*sigh* Okay I’m having issues with the receptionist. She can’t “find” the vet. And she can’t “find” Moonshine’s appointment.
How do you lose a vet exactly?
I’m a little annoyed.
Not happening again today. After sitting at the vets office for 2 hours we were told to come back Friday. His regular vet wasn’t in and the other rabbit vet was supposed to do his neutered but couldn’t be “found.” Now I don’t know what exactly that means but the receptionist wasn’t very forthcoming with information.
I am very very irritated.
That is not OK. Poor Moonshine, being taken there and kept there for so long just to be sent home a second time ![]()
Poor Moonshine =( =( =(
I am more annoyed than anything. I was supposed to drop him off and then go to work. But instead I was very very late for work and had an irritated rabbit to take home. But we sat in the vet waiting room for 2 hours which made Moonshine agitated and he started thumping when it started getting crowded. But luckily he is rather easy to calm down (but he is still not happy about being stuck in a carrier that he doesn’t like for almost 3 hours this morning). So after sitting there I was told he wouldn’t be neutered today and to bring him back Friday.
I like the regular vet. But I am not fond of the office I take them to. I would almost rather go back to driving 4 hours to a vet.
Oh, that’s just awful….
Sending (((vibes))) for Moonshine. That stinks, keep us updated!
I am sorry they are making this so difficult for you. Continued vibes-sounds terribly frustrating.
Sorry for the lack of updates. Had some issues with trees falling around my house.
Moonshine was FINALLY neutered! Everything went smoothly. He was brought home at 4pm on Friday. He pretty much ate all of the food in his cage and drank water as soon as he was out of the carrier. He wasn’t happy with me though. If I even peeked in at him he would thump at me. I found it amusing, he did not. But his incision looks good and aside from being a big groggy from the pain meds he is pretty much normal.
Yay for (((Moonshine))) lots of healing vibes xxx
Hooray for Moonshine! I’m so glad it went well ![]()
Yay! I just got my Chom neutered and he’s bouncing back! Sending a (((speedy recovery))) to your Moonshine!
Yay for finally being neutered! Its good he bounced back pretty quickly
I hope he continues to heal fast and stays healthy
Glad to hear it!
Happy news! My Yohio too started eating the minute he came home from his neuter.
