So my bunny has recently had pretty intensive surgery and has seemed to become more attached to me than ever. This has been great , but the last few days she has started to pee on me. The first time it happened I didn’t think too much of it because she is still recovering from her enucleation, but now it seems I’m the only thing she pees on today alone it’s been 3 times. Any suggestions? or reasons she might be behaving this way? She seems to use the litterbox when I’m at work or sleeping, but if I’m home on the couch she will pee on me.

This is my best guess – after such pain I just want comfort no matter what and you are comfort and she doesn’t want to leave your comfort. That is just a guess but I think it’s a good guess. I feel comfort I don’t want to leave. Also the couch smells like you so that is comfort – this is NOT unusual for rabbits who feel well or who are ill.

Thanks for the response! I’m glad it’s not uncommon I am happy that she feels comfortable with me it is just tough to have to change my clothes a bunch.

Well I’ll just tough it out and as long she is okay and it’s not something that means something is wrong I’m okay with pee.

Hmm maybe it’ll pass after a bit…she still is recovering and all.

Would she be comfortable if you put a barrier between you and the pee?

Maybe put a couple blankets on your lap, so when she is laying down on your lap and goes pee, it will just soak through the towels.

Thanks for the responses I actually put a couple of towels on one side of the couch and she will go there and not directly on me which so while she is recovering I suppose I can handle that…I’m just so hoping this doesn’t become a permanent thing.
