I had put Nova away for the night and left my room for a little bit to watch TV and when I came back I noticed a spot in the corner where she had urine marked a little bit and I must have missed it. Since it’s dark wood looking flooring I couldn’t see what color it was until I wiped it up and it was brownish! So I had a momentary freak out and jumped onto the computer to see what I could find and it sounds like it oxidizes after a while and can turn brown. I know her pee is normally yellowish when it first comes out (I clean it up enough… ), so I don’t think it’s anything medical. But just to be safe I thought I’d ask here and see what the bunny experts have to say about it.

Bunny pee can be several colors including red. Boy what a horror the first time I saw that.

It does turn brown if the pee has been out a while. Sepending on what they eat, the pee can also be yellow, orange or brown. It is really freaky the first time you see it come out a strange color.

Mimzy’s looked like rusty water the first time I saw it. Scared the bejeebers out of me! 0_o Totally normal though.
