I’ve realized that my bunny takes molting season really hard. He has had like 5 gut slow down poops today and it makes me a little nervous that it’ll escalate into blockage or GI stasis. Any advice to reduce the amount of gut slow down poops during this time.

You cangive him siethicone baby gasdrops a couple of times per day. Some buns will eat it on a piece of lettuce or similar.

Other than that, brushing and lint rolling (if he has short hair – lionheads and other fluffy breeds obviously can’t be lint rolled.)

Encourage exercise, serve hay in small piles around his area, and keep a close eye.

Daily brushing is really important at times like this. One of my rabbits has extremely dense fur and sheds an incredible amount, I find daily brushing vital to limiting how much fur both he and my other rabbit ingest during grooming. Even with daily brushing he still gets the occasional poops joined with string of fur, or double poops from slight slow down.

I agree with the above, plan to do some really deep groomings and daily brushings.

Also anything you can do to increase hydration and hay consumption is good. Sometimes I even skip pellets during molting times, to encourage more hay eating.
