It’s serious molting time here on the side of the globe that is “Springtime”. I know I have posted this picture a couple of times of my bunny Vivian (RIP), and we do have it as one of our current BinkyBunny Promotions (So you may have seen it before) .
Would love to see what others are dealing with — Get creative and share some molt monsters of your own, (large or small!), we may end up featuring them on our Facebook and Twitter pages. So go find your bunnies inner molt monsters and post ’em here.

This pic is a couple of years old, from Olivia during a major molt. It was my FB profile pic for a while. ![]()

ROTFLOL!!!!! That’s hilarious! I love that you put real googly eyes on it.
I’ll post a pic tomorrow. ![]()
My buns are done with their spring molts. It wasn’t really terrible this year. Here are 2 pix from my profile album, from April 2013, when Bam had a record spring molt and looked severely neglected for sth like 8 weeks. It was the first shed after his neuter, I’m thinking it had sth to do with that, beacuse he’s never shed like that again.

He really didn’t look good ![]()
He is so cute!
Spays and neuters can def take it out of a bun.
Here is a pic of poor Jenny’s tum I’ve just taken, the complete opposite of a moult bunny. It’s taken her 8 n half months just to grow a light fuzz. Yet the rest of her fur is soft n glossy?
A couple of older pics.

I believe I was forming a bunny shape here. To add ears to later but never did.

You’re sure it’s a rabbit you have and not a flock of sheep?! ![]()
I know!
I’m not even certain whose fur it was. Maybe TimTim, because I can see some stripey tufts. He’s chinchilla coloured.
Lol Azerane. You could knit yourself a jumper, Jerseygirl!
JG – Love the little lint bunny. Oh my gosh that first pic looks like a poodle. I think this is a molt mutt!
,
Haha! I see what you did. ![]()
Wow, Jersey!!!! You need some googly eyes on those stat!
Lol BB!
If this thread would have been a month ago I could have shown you guys a real molt! From my horse…..literally a wheelbarrow full.
I’ve just finished grooming all six, piggies first then buns as they came in from the garden, including a somewhat damp Podge.
No dust bunny of any size on the floor, I think I’m wearing half of it, and the rest is floating in mid-air at least for now!
Here is what I’ve gathered up from Podge so far, with the sd card for scale….

16 extra days can make quite a difference!
Jenny is having her first moult since she arrived here, over 9 months ago…

She is unimpressed with me or the grooming brush
it took two sprinklings of pellets and some carrot before she would talk to me after!
Here is Latte, kindly showing just how big jenny’s moult monster is ![]()

JG, are you sure there’s a bun in there somewhere? ![]()

Poor Jenny needed another good groom tonight, and I think she will need a third groom tomorrow ![]()
Here is Choco with tonight’s moult monster from Jenny, this is in addition to last night’s, which was shown against Latte in this morning’s picture!

How cool with her tummy, GJ! When my dog was young she needed an ultrasound of her tummy so they shaved it, I remember it took a very long time for the hair to grow back. (She didn’t have anything seriously wrong with her, they eventually attributed it all to a stomach bug and she’s been well since, it’s 6 years ago).
Choco looks like he actually is looking for a bunny in there!
I wrote early on in this thread that my buns were done with their spring shedding, but I was wrong. Bam’s shedding again. Maybe he read my post.

Quite a difference between 8.5 months and 9 months!
Choco is generally quite curious about the bunnies, and I guess the moult monster smells like bunny to a piggy.
Look forward to seeing Bam’s moult monster pics ![]()
Chewie’s spring molt is still going strong.

![]()
Looks like its levitating, does Chewie use the force much? ![]()
LOL
OMG, it does! I never even noticed.
I suppose the Force must be strong with my young Padawan.
HAHHA! These are great! And so funny – I agree with Gina.Jenny – Q8bunny’s molt monster does look like it is levitating!
I gave Jenny another groom just now.
Thankfully, it looks like the worst is over for her, and she ate pellets while I groomed, and happily accepted a cauliflower apology straight after ![]()
Is it me, or is that mini moult monster tucking into the cauliflower too ![]()
Off topic but Jenny looks so much like Blue! Do you know what breed she is? Seriously she must be his clone or smth!
She was caught as a stray, and I’m pretty sure she and Gina are sisters. My guess is they are part Polish Hare, which I believe is called Britannia Petite the other side of the pond? VB said she looks like Zou, so maybe there’s a Vienna Blue great grand bunny in their family tree, assuming your bun is a Vienna Blue too?
Yes, he is at least 1/2 Vienna.
Pippi decided to copy Jenny ![]()
This platform on the kitten tree is approx a foot square. There will be some happy birds tomorrow, and some baby birds will have very snug nests!
The four way moult monster ![]()
I saw a small bird fly of with a huge mouthful the other day, there’s not much left from last week’s moult monsters ![]()
Bunnies were all cross with me last night, for bring out the grooming comb, but given how hot its turned today, they are almost certainly more comfy for it, though I know I won’t get any thanks from anybun!
Ha! There’s so much fur!! Chomondeley isn’t quite molting completely. His fur is the glossiest I’ve ever seen- he’s such a neat freak!!
Whenever I pet my dog, I come away with a handful of fur…
Has it been snowing, Podge?
This is Podge’s third groom in 24 hours and he was so cross he ground his teeth loudly at me ![]()
We’ve only tortured Timber with one proper grooming session so far. it was rather successful, I’d say. We could still do this a couple more times, easily!

I don’t know if I’m using the ‘proper’ grooming comb, but the one I use Ajax really likes being brushed with
What combs are y’all using that your rabbits dislike so much?
Reese showing off her molting back. I just brushed her outside and i had to change my pants because of how much hair was all over them
Btw that mint can is there because she loves to pick it up and throw it around
Ajax, Timber doesn’t mind the brush itself, he just dislikes being held fiddled with. We’ve been using a rubber brush, but have a comb supposedly coming in the mail. It’s taking it’s own sweet time, though. Timber is almost done shedding. Finally!
Well molting or no Rees is adorable.
Breintje hates being brushed, but here he is: happily laying after we brushed him. He gets itchy during molt season and won’t be brushed when it’s most needed. Sorry bun, but we’ll just have to ignore your opinion then. He always looks so silly during molt: he tends to carry a “hula-skirt” because the fur on his backside doesn’t molt as quickly as on his back. ![]()
Well, we made another bunny out of it.
For some reason he decided that a midsummer-molt would be great this year. The weather has been crazy for the past few weeks, maybe this messed up his internal calendar? We had a couple of cold weeks in june with autumn storms, hail and torrents of rain. Hope he’s not turning into his winter coat yet, because it’s heating up now.
In the meantine..bunny fur in my tea, on my dinner, a few sprinkles on my breakfast eggs. Oh well, the joys of having pets.
