Hello, I’m new to this site, so forgive me if this isn’t where this question should go, but I need some bun expertise. I recently adopted a mini rex mix bunny from a rescue agency and I’m in love, but today I noticed some missing patches of fur on the top pf his foot. I saw it the day I met him, but I didn’t think anything of it until now when I saw it up close. Could he have pulled it due to stress in his previous home? Or could this be mites or maybe sore hocks?? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

        Thank you!

        An overly concerned bunny mom

Hi and welcome! there is no way to tell for us. He should see a rabbit savvy vet for a check up and they can do a skin scrape and see if it’s mites or a fungal infection that needs to be treated. He may have pulled some hair out but he would have been pulling in multiple areas if it was stress induced.

            Hi Jasper
I’ve just added the photo in for you as it was not showing. I see there is another thread on this topic. I will delete that one as you already have a reply here.

What is the skin there like?
It looks whitish but I cannot tell if that is skin or the fur growing back.

              Hello jerseygirl,

It looks like the fur’s starting to grow back, but a tad bit patchier. It doesn’t seem to bother him at all or cause any pain.

Thank you so much for the help!

Hello! Thank you for replying. I’ll try and get him in sometime this week for a checkup. And yes, there’s no other affected areas so I’m guessing it’s not stress.
