For anyone looking for a beautiful mini-rex or two, Vinny and Velvet are now available for adoption by Petfinder! They are roughly 5 months old, newly spayed and neutered, and currently being fostered under the umbrella of the LowCountry House Rabbit Society in Charleston, SC.
Vinny is a happy clown that takes a little bit of time to fully trust, but loves to run, bounce and play. Once he gets to know you, he likes having the top of his head and his ears rubbed. He has impressive bunny-500s and likes to play frizbee with paper plates. He’s got a beautiful black/sable coat and brown eyes; and is about 4lbs. No one is expecting him to get much bigger.
His sister, Velvet, is the definition of a cuddle-bun. She lives for attention and loves to be held or in a persons lap. She’ll even seek attention from the dog at her foster-mommas house, through a gate of course. She likes to rearrange her hay and her special pillow case, and like her brother; she’s an expert at playing frizbee with paper plates. She is also about 4lbs, and not expected to get much bigger.
Here are some links to their pages. If you know of anyone in SC or the surrounding states that is looking for a new bunny or two, let them know about Vinny and Velvet! Their brother has just found his forever home up in New York and will be making the great journey this weekend! ![]()

Here’s a picture from their foster mommy. This is Velvet doing nosies with her temporary doggy roommate. She has so much love in her that she doesn’t seem to care what species you are… She just wants attention and cuddles. Who wouldn’t want that in a bun?

I’ll take her CT, ha ha ha! If only you could post bunny’s to Australia – especially Queensland, GULP!
Honestly, I can’t believe no one has snapped her up yet? I don’t get it???
*SIGH…..*!
I wish I could bring them home. They look so precious. ![]()
I’m happy to say that their brother made the journey to his new home safely.
These two have such wonderful personalities and such velvety coats. ^_^ It amazes me that they haven’t found forever homes yet, either separately or together. If anyone has questions about them, I can definitely get you more information on them; and probably a lot more pictures, too!
I got to spend some time with Vinny and Velvet.
They are little dolls. I’m going to be their next foster home soon.
They are both still looking for homes!
I’m surprised they aren’t finding homes quicker! They are so cute! =)
Over here people don’t really know about our local rabbit rescue so people just adopt from backyard breeders instead of adopting. =/
Vinny and Velvet are now being fostered in my living room.
They are adorable little things.
Vinny has been doing binkies in circles and Velvet flops out so hard that I am tempted to poke her to see if she’s alive.
If anyone is looking for bunnies, they are still available through Petfinder and our local HRS.
Fees can be discussed with serious inquiries, especially if someone is looking to adopt them together.

Petfinder has not been updated yet, but Vinny and Velvet are a bonded pair again. They must be adopted together, and the adoption amounts are renegotiated due to the fact that it’s a pair, and not 2 separate adoptions. They are obviously much happier together, and Vinny is much more social towards people now that he has access to cuddling with his sister again. They are an adorable little pair that would bring lots of cheer to someone’s home. ![]()
They’re so cute! ![]()

Vinny and Velvet cuddling in their enclosure. <3
That is a whole lot of plushness and cuteness right there ! ![]()
They still haven’t found a home yet? If I was closer and Moxie was nicer I would totally snatch ’em up! ![]()
Moxie, somehow they’re still looking for a home!
They are adorable little munchkins. They run and play and do great little binkies. They’re interested in our lady cat but have the common sense to give her space if she looks cranky. And if you go to pet one of them, after a moment the other will come over to get head-rubs, too. I’m going to see if I can get them weighed again before the end of the week, but they’re cute little balls of fluff. ^_^
Hopefully they’ll find their forever home soon. ![]()
They are adorable and sound lovely. I hope they find a forever home soon. ![]()
UPDATE/RESOLUTION:
Vinny and Velvet have now officially become foster-failures! We are starting the bonding process between them and our Tilly and Duncan. They can still be found on Petfinder at the moment, but we are working on getting that resolved.
If you’re looking for a bunny in SC or near lower SC, there are plenty still looking for homes on petfinder and on local FB adoption pages for Charleston, Summerville, etc… ^_^
Congrats to you and both the bunns! They are beautiful and seem like sweethearts.
The only thing that keeps me from adopting both my fosters is the fact I’m either 1 cat or 1 rabbit over my rental limits already
Hard to bring a bunny into your home without falling in love with it, congratulations !
BunLuv – We’re kind of pushing it a bit with keeping them, but luckily our landlord declared that bunnies do not count toward the pet count, and she knew we had 2 to start, with 3 fosters on the way, before we moved in… We’ve kept her semi-up-to-date on adoptions, so she’s aware that there are 4 bunnies running around my home. Also, maintenance doesn’t mind them because they’re cute and they don’t get underfoot (for them) while they’re trying to do any work on the place. I’m just glad that none of the bunnies run for the door when it’s open. ![]()
Lucky you ! I would love a house full of bunnies ![]()
