How much is a mini lop supposed to weigh? Oliver is 3 months old, but he still only weighs 1.2 pounds, and he hasn’t grown much in the past month. I’m wondering if this is normal, or if maybe he’s a dwarf? I feed him alfalfa hay, alfalfa pellets mixes with timothy pellets, both of which he has unlimited access too, and he’s just begun to be introduced to veggies like cilantro and parsley. Is his weight normal for his age or should I be feeding him something else? He doesn’t have any other problems, he just recently went to the vet and they said he was healthy, but I forgot to ask if his weight was normal for his age.

I would have thought if they were concerned about his weight, they’d have said something so chances are he’s okay But for reference, my bigger mini lop is just over 2kg and my smaller one is just under 2kg. They’re just over a year old.

Morgan, are you in the US?
The smallest lop breed in UK, Australia, NZ, are known as Holland lops in the US.
The next largest lop is Dwarf lops, which are that are called Mini Lops in the US !

@sarah, your guys are UK mini lops?

Jersey that’s right, UK mini lops. I completely forgot that UK mini’s are different to US.

My (US) mini lop was about 5 lbs when I brought him home at five months of age, so he was almost full grown, hopefully that information helps you!!

Hi! Your Oliver reminds me of my Polly Oliver She’s a mixed breed who turned out to be very little, and I had asked a similar question here:

                  https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/aft/162408/Default.aspx

She’s gained some weight since then, but doesn’t look a lot bigger. Can you see or feel your bunny’s hip bones prominently? The vet suggested that as a good way to check. The diet that he’s on sounds good for his age based on what I’ve read and the vet’s advice. I agree that a good vet would have told you if your bunny was underweight.
